Deliveroo……my first time.
I live in a village so not covered by them but tonight I’m in a hotel in Cambridge so thought I’d try them out as no restaurants close by.

So much choice! Unbelievable.

I’m a convert!

For the record I went for a Five Guys and got an additional 10% off.

Yes I’m a lazy fat fucker before anyone says anything 😂😂

Tesco are already trialling ‘whoosh’ whereby you get you shopping delivered within hours.

Is it South Korea where you can basically scan everything with your phone and it’ll turn up at your house in an hour or two?

It’s the future.

Think what we need to do is clearly state was takeaway is acceptable to order by delivery and what is not.

Seems like ordering an Indian for delivery is acceptable because said poster has done so before.

Ordering a McDonalds to your house means the neighbours are entitled to paint a big red cross on your front door.

What if what you want isn’t within walking distance, or you’ve had a few drinks, or you’re watching a movie with the kids, are you allowed order a pizza then? Or do you pack them up and all drive out during the film?

Fivetide

Patty is actually an English word erroneously translated from the French for pate.

Probably around the time the Hueguenots came over

BTW, when did it becoem acceptable to say 'patty' in Britain? Is this the Spongebob generation seeping through into aduthood?

Over 20 years ago in London at the end of the 90s, you could call or go online and order someone to deliver you literally anything (legal) from any business, to your desk using a company called 'Urbanfetch'.

If we were working late we'd order food, beers, fags, any shopping we'd promised to get on the way home, everything. Then another round a bit later. No limit to the number of trips they'd make back and forth, all for a small commission. It seemed magicback then.

Funnily enough they went out of business in under a year, but it was fun while it lasted.

I've only used them once to order from a place called Cheeky Burger. Chocolate shake, rosemary chips and cinnamon apple pie and a triple cheese burger.

Amazing flavour...the sort of patty that melts on your tongue with minimum chewing...it was triple stacked but didn't feel stodgy...I could easily have eaten another.

The sign of quality...it was £16 mind

Those big deliveroo bags are the bollocks. Was down in Weymouth in the summer visiting the father in law, had a day on the beach and a fella and his missus next to us had one. He opened one section, pulled out some grub, then opened another section and pulled out an ice cream for his missus and put ice cubes into a drink. I looked them up on ebay and you can pick them up for 30-40 nicker.

I love Five Guys.

As for this food delivery shit, I get the occasional pizza delivered but never seen the point of getting a burger and fries or a sausage roll delivered. I think it’s a bit odd.

But we’re on the next level now with that Getir bollocks. Ordering a packet or biscuits or some washing up liquid to be delivered to your house is the height of laziness. Just walk down the corner shop?

I was in Chelmsford though.

It's a long run for a delivery of a sausage roll and a cookie.

Re: Deliveroo……my first time.
I was in Greggs the other day. Not a place I frequent regularly but me and me daughter were waiting for her opticians appointment and we were peckish so a sausage roll and soup it was...………..

Anyway....

Whilst inside in walks a Deliveroo bloke and picks up a shit load of grub, packs his huge box bag and buggers off.

Now, I am not a snob by a fucking long shot....But who the fuck are these cretinous animals going online and ordering a fucking Greggs?

Isn't Greggs just a place you use if you are peckish and its near where you are? Do people seriously go online and check its menu and order like they are ordering a ruby?

"Who's hungry?"
"Yeah!"
"Shall we get something in?"
"Yeah!"
What you fancy?"
"Greggs!"

Jesus!

Re: Deliveroo……my first time.
No mate, in real life I tend to lead with my chin.

The thing I learned when I was a kid was the worst person for beating me up was me.

If something happened and I didn't do anything about it I would fixate about it and call myself a coward for weeks. Eventually I thought that actually getting beaten up was less pain than I would incur from cowardice which I would really beat myself up about.

Anyway,. I'm glad you think my story is bullshit because it means that I did something a lot of people wouldn't do. That suits me just fine.

If I could ask you one question though, what would be the point of someone telling that story to a bunch of people who I will never meet? I know plenty of people on here in real life and I like them to a man. Why lie to them?
