Is Putin about to make a big mistake?
Lots of talk here that he is about to invade Ukraine.

NATO and the US won’t get involved but heavy sanctions have been threatened and Putin has threatened ending all diplomatic ties with the west.

Latest is that Putin will stage an attack making it look like Ukraine starts the conflict.

What’s being reported over there?

Is it about to kick off?

I'd relax and stop worrying about China going to war. It is my assessment that they've got their heads screwed on and are interested in $$$ rather than territory or glory. Therefore they will create conditions where they have super cheap resources from Russia and 0 threat on their northern marches.

The Ukrainians would do well to play that card when in talks with any potential alternative to the mess in the Kremlin right now. Problem is, there is none yet because the Chinese are still keeping this zombie going on life-support, and that is the extent of their willingness to have a pop at the US.

It is absolutely in the Chinese interest to keep Russia weak, corrupt and totally isolated from the civilised world. They’ve been dining out on it since the Ukrainian war started in 2014.

You’ll happily post up something (anything) pro Russian I’ve posted then?

I’ll wait.

'So replying to someone’s post about China getting involved and saying ‘nothing positive will come from them getting involved” is apparently:
Pro China
Pro Russian
Anti everyone else'

Er... given your form of words, yes.

Re: Is Putin about to make a big mistake?
Wise up, people. Only two issues at stake here:

Russia needs more weapons that work and more cannon-fodder prepared to die for the cause.

China needs to sell more weapons (maybe in exchange for oil and/or gas) and has millions of troops that need training in a realistic battlefield situation.

Only two dots to join here.

Only issue for China is if it all kicks off internally while all these troops are away getting kille....sorry...trained.

Thank you for admitting I was right.

As you admit, it was you that decided to post about China.

As I said, a desperate attempt to find something negative about Ukraine and its US allies (thank you for quoting that). Presumably you are simultaneously claiming the Russia/China joint exercises are NOT China getting involved while using the exercises as a reason to bring up US weakness in SE Asia.

Too subtle for me, mate.

“Your attempts to find something negative for Ukraine (I suspect it's the US/NATO/'the West' you really hate) and positive for Russia are getting increasingly frantic.”

I didn’t mention Ukraine or Russia.

“Just the very mention of Russia's failure to achieve its war aims has led to your pro-Chinese, anti-American rant.”

Pro-Chinese facts written by Americans?
Nice use of the word ‘rant’ though.

I didn't say you did say China was getting involved, did I?

It's probably you that needs to read stuff more carefully.

Re: Is Putin about to make a big mistake?
More than half of the Russian Black Sea fleet's naval aviation combat jets out of use after blasts at the Saky air base in the annexed Crimean peninsula earlier this month, a Western official said on Friday.

The air base near Novofedorivka on the west coast of the peninsula, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014, suffered multiple explosions on Aug 9.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Ukraine was now consistently achieving "kinetic effects" deep behind Russia's lines which was having a material impact on Russia's logistics support and "a significant psychological effect on the Russian leadership".

Re: Is Putin about to make a big mistake?

Amazing diatribe, well done you.

Now if you take the time to read back properly you’ll see I didn’t say China was getting involved - someone else did.

All u said was ‘nothing positive will come from
It’.
Then I posted what the Americans have already admitted about their simulation of conflict in the South China Sea.

That’s no way to treat anyone, even mimmler.
