Is Putin about to make a big mistake?

Lots of talk here that he is about to invade Ukraine.
NATO and the US won’t get involved but heavy sanctions have been threatened and Putin has threatened ending all diplomatic ties with the west.
Latest is that Putin will stage an attack making it look like Ukraine starts the conflict.
What’s being reported over there?
Is it about to kick off?

All they (BRICS) are doing is securing energy and other commodities to secure their economic growth for the next few decades. They're not 'on message' with the US/UK/EU so are looking after their interests elsewhere.
You're facing into a (possible) 10 year commodity bull market, what would you do?
Its apparent now but will become more so - energy security is political security. Which countries can honestly say they have that security?

Buying a bond denominated in BRICS is pretty much the same as buying a junk bond.

Goose and Kaiser both appear to be suggesting, a) there are only two currencies in the world, BRICS (appropriately named) and USD, and b) central bank governors like to lose their country's hard-earned dosh to leaders of other countries who are in some cases run by people who make Idi Amin look like a gnome of Zurich.
