I think we should rest some of our players at liverpool
we have good teams at under18 and 23s, i would leave out antonio, rice and zouma, cl i think a no goer, and maybe e league might be out of reach, whats the point of 18 and 23 teams if we dont play them, if we have a fresh team in spain and come home one down, we will have a chance. i dont blame the players. i blame gsb and moyes, we needed 6 or 7 players n the windows past, we got none, i think if we go out in the next few weeks, it might be time to march again, and maybe some of you will come out of the pubs and bars and join us this time.

I'd start with the strongest team but use youngsters as proper substitutes not last 10 minute run ons.

It's a tricky one. Even though we won't get top 4 we do still need points for top 6, or more to the point we need to try our best to get points for top 6, which means playing your best side, more or less.

Also, Sat - Thu is a fair gap, and since Sevilla is such a huge game you would think that sheer adrenaline will have them massively up for Thursday anyway.

I'm more inclined to start with our best 11 as long as subs are made at sensible times not right at the death when they are looking knackered.......

Wouldn't rest Zouma. He's been fantastic.

Plus you'd be looking at right Hammering.

Re: I think we should rest some of our players at liverpool
Was advocating resting players before but after the loss the Southampton I’m not sure if that’s a good idea.

Two losses in a row will not help us play Sevilla.

Also, iron sharpens iron etc.
playing against one of the best teams in world football should get you prepared for another one of the best teams in world football.

The only player I’d rest is Antonio and only so that we can try Okaflex or someone else at least for 45 minutes.

I do not think Moyes is hiding some great talent on the benches. They probably aren’t better than the 11 that start. But no one gets better unless they play games. Rice wouldn’t be rice without the amount of games he’s played. So we have to give the youth a chance or actually spend some money and let the youth go.

Any other club could rest players but thanks to Moyes we have no one else.

Re: I think we should rest some of our players at liverpool
Exactly what i said earlier in the week. Anfield is one of the hardest places in Europe to get a result regardless of who goes there. After last night, our focus HAS to be the EL,no good going full strength in Liverpool only to (in all likelyhood) get beat anyway.

Lets leave as mych in the tank as possible for Sevilla.

Brave call to rest players. On the one hand I agree about making it the best possible scenario for our players to tackle Sevilla, but although I can concede that we’ll likely gain zero points at Liverpool with our best 11, our goal difference could be crucial come the end of the season too.

I also wouldn’t want to see a Notts Forest type scenario where the too many youth get thrown into the deep end.

We should have enough fringe senior players to shuffle the pack a bit without going too extreme.

Liverpool will be just as focused on midweek with their CL game against Inter on Tuesday.

What a load of gutless old cunt. We're nailed on to lose against both the bin dippers and the smelly dagos. But if you don't try to win that's what makes you a worthless cunt. Proper Allardyce cunty talk this is.

Moyes fielded a fairly strong side last night unlike Southampton who kept their top players on the bench for most of the game ! we just don't look like the happy side that we have been for over a season somethings not right Antonio acting like he's got Haller disease Benny having a pop at Moyes !!!
I think we'll do well to finish in the top 10 !! that's what happens when you don't strengthen your squad.

If Moyes is choosing Benrahma over them, they must be pony.

That said, he reckons he can’t find anyone better than Antonio so let’s say I don’t exactly trust his judgement fully.

Re: I think we should rest some of our players at liverpool
The reason the youngsters don't play is they are not good enough. Even through the mists of time there's this fallacy that we don't play these amazing youngsters. Apart from the Cole, Ferdinand, Carrick etc generation, where are the other youngster successes, oh yes Rice. They are not good enough no matter how you kid yourselves. They didn't buy a single reinforcement in January. That's the reason, nothing else

Sevilla are going to slap up regardless. And so will Liverpool no matter what team we put out. Morale is low and its down to the owners and moyes not strengthening
