Its not all good news
Chas' son Luke was carer for his dad. Heartless ticket office manager has stopped his away ticket that he's had for eight years, because his dad's gone. This is the same person who had all traveling fans queuing around for hours in Lyon to pick up true fans tickets, She must go, I was told she's hated by a lot of our fan base. If gsb want to build bridges with our fanbase this woman must go due to her heartless action. I will ask my good friends at Hammers United to take up this case on Luke's behalf. If you think that this action against Luke was wrong, please put your comments below.

Balders, a girl selling the tickets said, unsold tickets would be destroyed. I think we need a person who will link the fans closer to the ticket office. a person with common sence.

Sums up the club , 1,000s out there no tickets who are season ticket holders surely it would make sense to sell them on to them

Went to the hotel and they wouldn't

After collecting my ticket at the hotel I walked along the river bank towards the La Place Bellecour, following the Satnav on my phone. I was just happy to be there and to look around the tourist sites (I didn’t drink as I had to drive back home from Stansted upon arrival back in the UK.) that said, there were plenty of really ‘tired and knackered’ Hammers on the flight back home during the early hours 😉😂

I was one who knee jerked towards sacking her. On reflection that was keyboard warrior overkill. That said she is culpable if not responsible, that odious responsibility sits squarely with GSB as they set the policy. The current ticketing fiasco(s), plural, are all unpleasant.
The issue with Chas's son, common sense and discretion would have offered him the ticket at the appropriate price. Unaware that anyone was asking for anything more. I hope the good folk at Hammers United can sort Chas's sons ticket.
Having only done Zagreb to date I can say that a trip to town, to ticket office at the ground and back to town then march back to the ground seemed messy and disorganised. Surely the club could have learnt from that, liaised with local plod and made it relatively easy to pick up tickets at subsequent matches without the issues which seem to have plagued Lyon? I have no issues with the points/away season ticket approach, those that go more often than me are fully entitled to be at the head of the queue. It seems odd, however, that anyone would chose to travel to sell tickets but I don't know enough to say it did or didn't happen.
P1 travel seem to have a significant tranche of home tickets for major games before tickets hit general sale or availability to season ticket friends and family (just visit the website and see what's on offer for the Frankfurt Game) and would question whether that seems right?
Then there is the west side seating rearrangement which appears to be a short term aim of displacing concessions with full price, new band, tickets (family club anyone?) and a long term aim of phasing out concessions (Kids and OAP discounts) entirely.
Putting this all together in the space of a couple of weeks I am left wondering whether it really is a coincidence that there is so much rancour around ticketing when the club are doing relatively well? (and I don't mean the price rise per se which is justified), or is this a case of GSB taking full advantage of the good will feeling at the expense of loyal fans?

wd40, it's quite possible to disagree with opinions without sounding like a kid having a strop in a supermarket aisle. You should try it some time.

Re: Its not all good news
The players / staff family & friends tickets were in the lower tier towards the corner flag to the right of the dugouts, so didn’t form part of our allocation.

Corden was down there, but whether he was in that particular section or a box, I’m not sure. I imagine he’s a bit too famous to be sitting in there, as much as I can’t stand him.

One Iron

That's sad re the away tickets. But to be fair if a handful of fans go all the way to lyon with ID to pick up their tickets and then sell them on I can't see that the TO can be held responsible. Certainly at the time they'd have no legal authority to intervene in France. And if people didn't bring their passports with them to pick up the tickets and the TO staff weren't accepting other Ids then it sounds like to TO staff were doing exactly what you want ie making sure the tickets go to the actual fans who bought the tickets. If you've travelled from the UK and can't provide your passport at pick up then that's suspicious.

I think OneIron was referring to the home game when he was talking about touts, not the away match.

TBH Hermit, we've got two utterly incompetent scumbags masquerading as West Ham fans in the boardroom so employing West Ham fans wouldn't necessarily guarantee anything better business operations wise but I definitely think stewarding would improve

Re: Its not all good news
Just a general point but for a Lyon ticket if you were relying on priority points you needed 20 points to get one. Bearing in mind that points totals cover two seasons and all the home cup games, people would only need to have gone away 4 or 5 times a season to have qualified. Having said that, it's not right that fans who wanted a ticket had none and the touts did. We over heard a couple of blokes saying they had paid £300 each for a ticket.

I agree that the club should act on all cases where they find STH or corporate or players or coaching staff or club employees or chumps sitting in the directors box passing on tickets to touts or selling them themselves over face value.

As far as I am aware they have acted in the past as I have seen reports of people having their ST cancelled for selling match tickets. The reality is though that Nicola Keye telling player X or Mr multi millionaire corporate to stop passing on tickets that end up being touted is likely to fall on deaf ears. It's why you get people like James Cordon turning up in Lyon and Graham Gooch at Bournemouth away. Not saying it's right but that's the world we live in today.

real westham fans could not get tickets, but the touts had them at 140 euros how come,. the ss ticket office should find out the leak thats her job, not upsetting true hammers

Fair point. I'll put my pitchfork down. Still pisses me off that the club go out if their way to employ people with no allegiance to our support. As for her job performance over the years its good to know that she has responded to reasonable requests but there have also been plenty of legitimate complaints about ticketing too.
