I’m off to Italy for two weeks on Tuesday.
Part of me hopes there’s no internet access so I don’t have to suffer our tortuous attempts to sign players.

Re: Official Transfer Rumours and Gossip Thread
Moyes continues to use the word “hope” when he talks about incoming players before the deadline. We need 5 and I would say ( opinion) central midfield is even more critical than left back and another CB.

I think now that we will not fall short of that , I think we will only get 2 of the 5 at best so left back and central midfield quality rather than 5 of less quality. We players that are fast, athletic and great passers of a football. Loans might be our saviour if there are those players who are at CL clubs who are not sure about us.

Ironic if Sullivan’s famous loan to buy deals actually get us over the current barrier which is us not being a draw for tge quality players we now chase?

Frankfurt sell Kostic, replace with Luca Pelligrini.

Other clubs make it look a lot easier don’t they.

Well firstly he didnt start the game anywhere. Secondly his 15 minute cameo on the right was surely enough to convince even the hardened believer that he aint no right winger. Looked like a fish out of water, complete shit.

Not the only player that was complete shit to be fair to him. Moyes is an absolute shambles. As are you Willtell you sex pest.

Re: Official Transfer Rumours and Gossip Thread
Wouldn’t be surprised if another CB is the last signing .
I don’t know wtf is going on with our transfer policy other than it seems Lingard was the be all and end all .
A pattern seems to be that we contact a club about a player , selling club indicates an interest in a deal , we pursue negotiations for a while and almost as an afterthought we speak to the player .
A player is a human being - not a piece of merchandise.

Re: Official Transfer Rumours and Gossip Thread
It could be that supporters were very much encouraged by Moyes in his early transfer business, and now when we are getting to the stage of putting in a bid for a certain player they are hoping this is another gem. To then be seen to have a method of pissing the selling club off with an initial lower bid frustrates these supporters when rarely there is an opportunity for us to push on…. even Declan has indicated this….so if the player can get like it why not the fans?

Re: Official Transfer Rumours and Gossip Thread
In stark opposition to us, I’m going to be intrigued as to how the three clubs who are just spending money like water on masses of players (Chelsea, Everton, Forest) actually get on.

It’ll either pay off handsomely or spectacularly backfire for Everton and Forest where it seems akin to panic buying. Forest are surely utterly fucked if they don’t stay up and they’ve surely pissed off their entire squad who got them here most of whom may not get a kick now.

Chelsea are actually buying/after some quality players (and Sterling) but is it too much change in one summer? They do look in a decent place on paper.

If they get him it will be the signing of the season for new promoted teams

I hope Moyes get´s in there and taps him up

Re: Official Transfer Rumours and Gossip Thread
Forest are absolutely smashing it in the transfer market. You have to think that at least a few of those signings are going to work out. The tried and tested formula of, identify a need, identify a player, then offer the amount of money needed to buy said player seems to be working out for them. Rocket science innit.

Yup. Far too much of a pattern to be a coincidence. One off Lowball bids laughed off by the other party and no realistic counter offer from our side, or personal terms rejected and seemingly end of conversation.

I wonder if there’s a correlation between transfer deals falling through quickly or coming off successfully based on whether Sullivan himself fancies the player or if they have an agent he likes to deal with? Surely there couldn’t be….

Re: Official Transfer Rumours and Gossip Thread
onsideman,

we don’t really know what we have offered or what they want though. It’s just the usual round of guessing from the “ITK’s” and “Sky Sources”

Even if you do go on what some reports that are saying PSG want 20 million and we are offering 12 million then that is obviously a big difference and not just “shaving off 1 million”

It just makes me laugh when some posters get so emotionally invested and are suddenly experts on players they had never heard of a week ago while having absolutely no concept of how to run a business when they say stuff like “just pay them what they want”

If the club and Moyes don’t feel that this lad is worth 20 million but feel they can negotiate for around 15 million then they are going to try.

Some fans are so desperate for us to get bodies in that they just want us to overpay just because that is what the selling club initially wants.

My Grandson plays a football manager game and in general the value of players is well below what they move for in 'real life'. As I said earlier the pathetic idiot who interferes with transfers at West Ham has still to 'throw his toys away'. He is without doubt a liability to our club.

Who?

West Ham are reportedly set to miss out on the signing of Polish international Jakub Kiwior, with the 22-year-old eager to remain with Serie A minnows Spezia for the new season

He's either worth the money they're prepared to accept or he isn't. Shaving £1m off the price of a player that doesn't cut it isnt good business, whereas marginally overpaying on a player that goes on to become a club legend to get the deal done efficiently probably is. If they want rid because he's crap then why even bother doing the dance?
