Coffee has asked me to be his no 2 this week and take the reigns, as he allegedly has computer problems. Advice of which he did not seek.
*SATURDAY*
NEWCASTLE VS LIVERPOOL (1230)
A resurgent Toon will see this as a free hit and will fancy making a name for themselves (like some WHOer's) in front of a watching global audience. They may well prove a stern test for the red Scouse, but ultimately Liverpool's quality should get them over the line and put the pressure back onto Man City. Away win.
ASTON VILLA vs NORWICH (1500) Just the fixture Stevie G needs to take off some pressure after an awful run of results. The Canaries have given up the ghost and will return to their rightful place in the Championship with some nice parachute money. If Villa can't win this one then Gerrard needs to fuck off back to bonny Scotland for some easier games. Home win.
SOUTHAMPTON vs CRYSTAL PALACE (1500) Who? What? Does anyone care? Curtains, back garden, etc. DRAW.
WATFORD vs BURNLEY(1500) I believe Watford have lost every home game since bringing in owl faced Woy as their most recent manager. He should be in a retirement home watching the snooker, instead he is masterminding the Hornets latest relegation. A job well done. Burnley on the other hand have enjoyed a new manager bounce after taking the huge gamble in sacking King Dyche and installing Michael Jackson from the backroom staff. Don't expect a thriller, but Burnley's extra motivation should be enough for them to take the three points back up Norf. Away win.
WOLVES vs BRIGHTON (1500) Could be a good game this won, and of course a game that is important to ourselves as far as European places are concerned. Wolves recent form has taken a dip, Brighton on the other hand have had an unexpected resurgence, including two away wins in North London. That said, I just fancy Wolves to bounce back here in a tight game, but hopefully not. Home win.
LEEDS vs MAN CITY (1730) - Dirty Leeds are still deep in the brown stuff, and have a tough run in. Today has to be a free hit for them, and I don't think even their most ardent fan fancies taking anything today against one of the best sides on the planet, and full of motivation. More winnable games await Leeds in their fight for survival. Away win.
*SUNDAY*
EVERTON vs CHELSEA (1400) A bit of a tricky one to predict this, as it could be one of them big days you see a Goodison once in a while, or it could be a game where their woes continue and are a couple down after 20 minutes. Chelsea being unpredictable of late only adds to the uncertainty. If you offered big Frank a point now I think he takes it it. I'm off the fence and gonna go with the best team on paper to win the day. Away win.
TOTTENHAM vs LEICESTER (1400) Leicester's midweek (okay, Thursday (excursions in Europe, and again next week, is going to play right into Conte's and Tottenham hands here, I feel. It looks like a very nice fixture for our N17 friends to get back on track in the battle for 4th spot. Home win.
WEST HAM vs ARSENAL (1630) Our form in games after European nights has been very poor of late, and I doubt many, if anyone, sees that changing in this one against a very motivated Arsenal outfit, and that cunt bouncing up and down on the touchline. I'm tempted to say we have bigger fish to fry, and that may be true, but in reality this is a very big game for us if we aren't putting all our eggs in the European basket, but due to the thin squad etc, we have had to sacrifice the league to quite a big extent. Away win.
*MONDAY*
MAN UTD vs BRENTFORD (2000) A game we will be casting an eye on as far as top 6/7 is concerned. The red side of Manchester are in quite a strange predicament as with Champions League qualification now out of the window do the players, or even the club itself, fancy the Europa League, or would they prefer just to concentrate on the league and domestic cups next season, with the Dutchman being the latest man attempting to bring back the glory days? The Bees on the other hand have quite impressively accomplished their task of staying up and can now enjoy trips to places like this and play with freedom. I just fancy home advantage will see Manu over the line in this one. Home win.
*Championship corner* There was a very significant game last night with our old friends Sheffield United taking a very big 3 points at QPR, and in the process all but ending the chances of anyone below 6th obtaining a play off spot, including Millwall. As far as today is concerned Nottingham Forest will continue their pursuit of The CHERRIES in the race for the much coveted second spot, with Forest looking good for a home win against Swansea, while Scotty Parker's free falling Bournemouth have a tricky assignment at Blackburn, although after last nights result Blackburn's desire may have been blunted somewhat. Huddersfield are still in in with a chance of second place, and will fancy their chances at an 'on the beach' Coventry City. Should be a good final few weeks of the season, and personally I'd like to see Forest do it.
