Cowdenbeath v Bonnyrigg Rose – Play Off Final

Cowdenbeath have been relegated from the SPFL following a 4-0 aggregate defeat against Bonnyrigg Rose.
The Blue Brazil slipped to a 1-0 reverse on Saturday, with a Neil Martyniuk penalty enough to ensure there would be no miraculous comeback in the pyramid playoff final.

The real damage was done seven days prior as the Lowland League champions claimed a comprehensive 3-0 victory at New Dundas Park. Roared on by more than 2,000 supporters, that game underlined the potential of the Lothian outfit.

And Robbie Horn’s men will deservedly take their place in League 2 next season.

By contrast, Cowdenbeath — who joined the Scottish Football League in 1905 — face a challenging future in the Lowland League.

I'm sure I could get a team together to play the famous Cows and Beef.

If they weren't too frightened to paly against a team with a couple of 60+s in it.

When they inevitably get relegated, Coo are going to be an absolute behemoth in the league below.

Erm... what is the league below? Is there one?

" they made it inaccessible to people living in England"

I expect the techinical challenges to preventing anybody outside Cowdenbeath watching it were too great.

Resulting in the vast majority of Scots, at least, knowing how shit they are.

Cowdenbeath 1-1 Dalbeattie Star

Cowdenbeath's search for a win continues as they came from behind to grab a point at home to bottom side Dalbeattie Star.

The visitors took the lead in the 36th minute with Liam Craig heading in at the back post.

Aiden Gilmartin equalised for The Blue Brazil in 48th minute with his second goal for the club. And Jordan Armstrong really should have won it late on for the home side but former Cowden loanee Mason McCready gathered at his feet.

Maurice Ross' side now sit 18th in the Lowland League having only amassed two points so far.

TEAM : Farrell, Robinson, Newman, Armstrong, Jarron (Graham), Garrad (Weekes), Thomson, Struthers (Berry), Sinclair, Gilmartin (Aikamhenze), Love

SUBS NOT USED : Lemon, Osborne, Donaldson

NEXT UP : We welcome Cumbernauld Colts to Central Park on Saturday 20th August in The Traderadiators.com South Challenge Cup.

You could watch the COO on a game by game subscription, but then they made it inaccessible to people living in England (still not worked out if it also applies to Wales).

It’s cut off a large chunk of the COO’s wider diaspora unnecessarily.

Nice one WHU
I found out the Braves have a live video on there app, absolutely terrible quality, there was another game going on in the background which made it confusing. But all good fun.

Where are you getting your updates from Mex?

Am finding the COO’s twitter feed via The Blue Brazil site frustratingly slow.

These cup games are just a distraction from the real bread and butter stuff.

Shame there weren’t more ‘A TRIALISTS’ involved tough.

Kilmarnock B 3-0 Cowdenbeath

Cowdenbeath crashed out of the SPFL Trophy at the first opportunity after enduring a frustrating night at Rugby Park.

Paul Sheerin's side took the lead in the 19th minute when Bobby Wales' effort was deflected past Danny Farrell in the visiting goal. And just one minute later it was 2-0 with Steven Warnock netting for Kilmarnock.

Deji Sotona, who signed on loan from OGC Nice earlier in the day, added a third in the 54th minute.

Killie will meet East Stirlingshire in the next round after The Shire defeated a St Mirren B side featuring on loan players Aiden Gilmartin and Ewan Thomson.

TEAM : Farrell, Robinson, Newman, Armstrong, Lemon, Garrad, Donaldson (Struthers), Berry, Sinclair, Graham (Jarron), Love

SUBS NOT USED : Aikamhenze, Ruddy

NEXT UP : Dalbeattie Star are the visitors to Central Park on Saturday 13th August as we return to Lowland League action.
