Nagel

The impact and lift from when he joined was oustanding. 9 goals in 16 games and he wasnt the main reason for our top 4 push? Do me a favour.

Off top of my head he got us results away at Villa, Wolves, Spurs at home and also that screamer vs Arsenal which got a point didnt it?

We run out of puff end of season, but we should never of been in that top 4 race……the main reason we was was cos of Jesse. If he did same this season we could of been celebrating in Seville still he was that good.

Re: Hartson & Berkovic
...and again you are the one dealing in if's and maybe's trying to argue against the fact he scored key goals for us which ensured we were competing until the business end of the season. He took the pressure off the team that was building because we were not expected to be where we were. His debut against Villa was a game loads were saying we would lose after Liverpool giving us some reality, yet he came in and had a blinder with Antonio looking like he was unplayable as well, Rice found a new mate to large it with and the confidence within the team was consolidated.

"You are wrong about the difference he made to our results because some of his goals just couldn't have been scored in the way he scored them..."

Eh? That just doesn't make sense. You do realise that with a different player on the pitch for 90 mins, those moments when Lingard had a shot to make might not have happened but others might have? Someone else might have scored from a different opportunity: a tap-in, a header, whatever...

Rossal, the fact is that we averaged very close to the same points per game before and after he joined (.57 vs 0.6) so your notion that he single-handedly pushed us up the table is nonsense. We even ended up lower in the table than when he joined us.

Rossal,

Is Pep in for Masuaku this summer?

Haha absolute quality! Im worried that you are serious with that statement.

You are wrong about the difference he made to our results because some of his goals just couldn't have been scored in the way he scored them.....it's no surprise we've been bemoaning our woeful finishing at times this season which had it had a player with a decent finishing technique like his could have made this season even greater, if you ask any neutral who they think would finish chances the best out of Antonio, Fornals, Benrahma or Lingard......you know who everyone would pick.......

We need players who can demonstrate the step up in quality required at this club.....Lingard for that period of his last season was a great example of what's missing in Moyes's plan.

Re: Hartson & Berkovic
What am I wrong about?

That we were 5th place when he came and 6th when he left? So, making out that he single-handedly almost got us into the top 4 is just not true?

That there is literally no way of knowing what the results would have been with a different player on the pitch for those 16 games? Maybe we wouldn't have seen some of those quality finishes, but we might have seen the ball go in off someone's arse. Who knows?

I'm not saying he wasn't great for those 10 games or so. I actually said he was.

It just sticks in my craw when people talk about individual players single-handedly being responsible for the team effort over the course of a season: just like happened with Tevez.

Re: Hartson & Berkovic
The only thing I need to get is that you are wrong, his contribution to last season was excellent, European spots were a tight run thing and he ensured we actually got into Europe without the need for some fair play award…..his goals and how they made a difference to our results make this a fact.

You clearly still don't get it, but whatever...

Re: Hartson & Berkovic
I’m not acting anything some of his finishes were of the quality that no other West Ham player could have done. He has a rare ability of being able to strike a ball superbly….you either never played the game or just don’t understand the technique required…

Nagel 5:10 Fri May 20
Re: Hartson & Berkovic
Like I said, you're acting as though if he wasn't there to score those goals then no-one else could have. That's why it's conjecture. Get it?

Side of Ham 5:07 Fri May 20
Re: Hartson & Berkovic
Look at the results you knob then take away his goals, it’s fact not conjecture at all…and that’s me leaving out his goals where we lost.

Re: Hartson & Berkovic
"without them they would have been mainly defeats but for a couple...That is fact but you call it shit."

Hahaha! And you're saying I'm offering up conjecture? Have a word with yourself.

Always makes me laugh when people say shit like this, as if we'd be playing with only 10 men if a Lingard or a Tevez weren't on the field.

Side of Ham 3:49 Fri May 20
Re: Hartson & Berkovic
Nagel, for starters we'd just lost 3-1 to Liverpool when he came in against Villa his goals alone helped us gain 16 points and without them they would have been mainly defeats but for a couple.
That is fact but you call it shit, you then offer up conjecture on your part as a counter argument......stop being a twat.....

Re: Hartson & Berkovic
I don't think anyone doubts LOMBARD's ability. He most definitely improves us, although no one really has much of an idea what form he's in at the moment as he's barely played, again.

What I'd worry about is if things aren't going well for him if he does join us. Does he go running to the press then, like he's apparently doing now? Surely that's a valid concern, especially seeing the way Moyes hates the press finding out things (like they were from Ex-WHU's leaks)?

"the man who nearly single handidly got us in the top 4."

Sorry, but that's a load of shit. We had just won 4 games in a row and were already in 5th place when he came in on loan. He was great in the first 9 or 10 games, but mediocre at best for the rest. Looking at the actual fixtures and results after January, I doubt we'd have been worse off if Haller had stayed and Lingard not arrived, possibly we might even have done better.

Re: Hartson & Berkovic
Definitely. They have a couple of massive 'me first' players there. Pogba will be off in the summer which probably helps them a bit, but I suspect Ronaldo is a problem behind the scenes, holding them back as a team in some ways as much as his goals have been the only plus for them. i expect he's got more clout than the lame duck manager Rangnick.

I see all the masturbatory hype from the media about him as the 'greatest coach you've never heard of' was just the usual Man U love in tripe that they incessently pedal, seen as he's been fucking shit and looks totally lost. Don;t suppose he signed up to be Ronaldo's right hand man, though.

Scored 9 goals in 16 games and was one of the best players in the LEAGUE in his time with us

ON A FREE....

Give ya heads a wobble please

If there's any substance to him being the MOLE within the Man Utd dressing room, then we need to steer well clear of him.
