WHO Poll
Q: 2022 Summer Transfer Window - How many 1st team players will we sign before August 6th
a. None as Sullivan will wait until the last week before he gets his scattergun out the cupboard
b. A couple of freebies paraded as superstars, usual hype to follow
c. I'm more optimistic as surely they know we need to strengthen, 3-4 with decent money spent.
d. Who gives a toss as we have a great squad already, I've already ordered the new replica kit, socks and all and can't wait to wear it at our first game, down the pub of course, I bleed claret & blue

Pogba, £290k-a-week is 'nothing'
No shame or awareness of so many people doing it tough that 290 bags a week is penauts to him, almost like he was insulted with the offer........

'How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing?'

Outgoing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba can be seen hitting out at a contract offer from the Premier League club in his soon-to-be released Amazon Prime documentary, describing a deal believed to be worth more than £290,000-a-week as "nothing".

As Brian Clough once said...

"Back in the 70's the only agent anybody really knew of was 007 - and he just shagged a few women not entire football clubs"

"Just to be clear SI’s headline is misleading in that Pogba has not said £290k pw is nothing."

And to make it a little clearer, Pogba did say the offer of £290k p/w was 'nothing'.

there's an american football player for the team I've followed for over thirty years that's about to sign a new deal worth a possible $25m a year. I don't begrudge him a penny, because he's done everything right and earned it

"Isn’t this all just class envy?"

what a weird thing to say, what's it got to do with class. no surprise though, coming from this site's version of owen jones. even run of the mill championship players are worth a fortune. true sports fans don't begrudge any players earning good money as long as they show effort and humility. all pogba, and players like him show is laziness & arrogance

Would love England to play France and Rice to absolutely destroy him midfield in the World Cup.

Mostly if Rice is still at West Ham. Probably not as bothered if he has left by then!

Trouble is he IS good- when he bothers to try. It's just that he so obviously phones it in when he doesn't fancy it. Although I find it quite funny, Man U fans must be fuming when they see him really trying for France one week and then jogging around old trafford the next.

I think they'll be better when he's gone.

Lol.. I’m anti myself now!

Maybe you read it wrong, the “know their place “ stuff is me being sarcastic. They don’t like us doing well that’s my point. And there’s a crabs in a barrel situation amongst some working class people that likes to pull people around them down who are doing well.

Your last sentance is bang on.

The rest is a fine example of your anti working class snobbery.

Which makes you a cunt.

There are two values these men have. Their playing value and their marketing value. His playing value has seemed poor but I dont give a shit so I dont know any numbers. His marketing value, as I understand it, is high.

A club will need to get the most from the player and will get a massive boost from the marketing.

This man is everything wrong with modern football.

Mercenary disloyal show pony cunt who only performs when he picks and chooses. Thinks nothing of leaving his team mates and club out to dry from his words and actions. Criminal waste of talent to boot. Got it in buckets but often seems not bothered to use it.

Re: Pogba, £290k-a-week is 'nothing'
Isn’t this all just class envy? Footballers are generally working class and should know their place. Yet when it turns out that these working class kids are the key to unlocking even more money for richer owners everyone gets pissed off.

Working class people are annoyed that their fellow working class person is getting more money than they are. Rich / middle class people can’t stand that a working class person gets more than they do.

Ultimately an individual footballer is a “business”. He has a fixed term contract to
Supply exclusive football services to a business. On top of that their image increases the clubs value (esp with Pogba for example).

In business terms his value to any team maybe beyond 290k a week. If he isn’t then no one will pay it and he won’t have a club. It’s just numbers.

Also a lot of players have obligations like charities, other businesses, employees and family that we aren’t aware of. Who knows what Pogba ltd is funding?

I’m all for kids from the streets making ridiculous money. More power to them.

The worst signing in Premier League history.

Congratulations Paul Pogba

Re: Pogba, £290k-a-week is 'nothing'
Didnt his agent trouser 30 odd million from his transfer to Man Utd?.

Also, Pogba copped a couple of million 'loyalty bonus' when his contract was ip.

Just 2 examples of why football is riddled with cunts.

Not blaming the player,if clubs are stupid enough to pay people yo take the piss out of them then thats their lookout.

Re: Pogba, £290k-a-week is 'nothing'
Guess they had to make an offer but was always going to walk away on a free .... probably best for both sides.
Hasnt worked since he came back but am sure he will turn up at the World Cup and play well

If he WAS offered £290k a week then if D Rice is approached by them he should be asking for double that
