Areola has to be the 1st choice. Even an ancient shilton was better at getting down to low shots . If fab gets the same amount of games as last season that's a minimum 12 points down the pan before a balls kicked . It sounds harsh but it's the truth . Was very good but is now completely shot to bits .

David Moyes will be pulling his hair out if recent reports are true that new signing Nayef Aguerd has been ruled out through injury for three months.
According to a recent report from BeIN Sports, the former Stade Rennes defender will miss the third quarter of the year after injuring himself during a pre-season friendly against Scottish side Rangers earlier this week.

“Not sure it’s been discussed, anyone see Declan storm down the tunnel after coming off?
Maybe he went for a shit, he was back on the bench with everyone else later. I wouldn’t read too much into that.

As in, I'm sure Moyes is confident in him.

As it happens, I don't think that's necessarily the case. He's a decent keeper and a good shot stopper, but I do think he's prone to the odd howler or rush of blood. Looked fairly lost a couple of times coming for crosses/corners when he was playing last season. That really needs to be worked on.

This.
Although I'm pretty sure someone will try and blame it on Sullivan.

If he isn't confident in Areola after a season to evaluate him, then it was the stupidest move ever buying him.

diehardhammer Areola is a very good keeper, but not without his faults, but he still has time to improve. Fabianski has bad moments also although age could be his excuse. I would have gone for Pope, but it's subjective.

What exactly are we looking for grapes?
Areola’s eactions give off a pretty normal keeper saying “fuck sake” or something along those lines to himself to me

Maybe he's not confident in Areola? Watch Areolas reactions to Readings first goal and disallowed second.

I don't think playing Dio on the right of a pairing will improve his lack of defending nous.

Why is it that when Dawson plays, zouma is asked to play left centre back.
But when Diop has to be brought on, he's asked to play left centre back despite it clearly not being his most comfortable position?
