West Ham’s Europa Conference League group stage fixture dates and kick off times confirmed

By Alex Young

West Ham’s Europa Conference League group stage fixture dates and kick-off times have been confirmed.

The Hammers have been drawn in Group B along with FCSB based in Bucharest, Anderlecht and Danish club Silkeborg.

Manager David Moyes was happy with the draw, telling reporters: “Aye, (it looks) good, I'm looking forward to it.

"We stayed in Silkeborg the day before. We know the level of the games we'll get in Denmark, it was tough the one we had and we know going to Bucharest is not easy either, I've been there before. Never easy, but it's great to be in it, isn't it, exciting times.

"In the main, the distances are not too far so it's important the supporters can get to the games relatively easy and hopefully relatively cheaply as well."

West Ham are poised to make third bid for Club Brugge midfielder Hans Vanaken with David Moyes still keen to sign the Belgian international despite agreeing a big money deal for Lyon's Lucas Paqueta

West Ham set to make third bid for Club Brugge captain Hans Vanaken
The Belgian attacking midfielder reiterated his desire to join West Ham
Boss David Moyes wants the 6ft 5ins midfielder as well as Lucas Paqueta

West Ham are to make a third bid for Bruges captain Hans Vanaken.

The 30-year-old is desperate to link up with David Moyes who has made it clear he wants the 6ft 5ins midfielder as well as Lucas Paqueta.

Bruges have rejected £11m so far and do not wish to sell but Vanaken wants the chance to play in the Premier League.

The Hammers made an improved £9.2million offer for Club Brugge captain Hans Vanaken on Tuesday.

The offer included an extra £1.6m in add-ons but still isn't enough for Brugge.

The 30-year-old Belgian international wants to join Moyes' side during the current transfer window after stating it his 'last chance' to make a career move to England.

'Clearly there is interest, enough has been written about it,' said Brugge captain Vanaken.

'New talks tomorrow and we'll see where it ends. I think it could be my last chance and I want to do it.'

Vanaken has started all five of Club Brugge's five Belgian Pro League games so far this season, scoring once in his side's 3-2 opening day win over Genk.

But the 30-year-old could find that his next start comes in the Premier League with West Ham keen to secure a deal for the attacking midfielder before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.

West Ham boss Moyes has been crying out for further attacking reinforcements and could now get his wish with the player pushing to leave Brugge and make the switch to London.

Former Manchester United attacker Adnan Januzaj is reportedly in talks to sign for West Ham on a free transfer.

The Hammers have been busy during the summer transfer window as they have completed deals for six players so far, with no intention of slowing down.

Januzaj is currently a free agent as he was released by La Liga side Real Sociedad and now he could be in line for a third stint with David Moyes.

The Scottish manager worked with the Belgian winger during his time in charge of Manchester United and Sunderland, however, their paths did not cross at Sociedad as Januzaj joined the club after Moyes was sacked.

The Hammers are now in talks for another reunion between the player and manager, with the player's representatives confident of agreeing on a deal, according to talkSPORT.

There is no pressure for the move to happen quickly, as Januzaj is not constrained by the transfer window as a free agent.

During his time in Spain, the 27-year-old was a consistent player for Real Sociedad, playing 168 times for the club, scoring 23 goals and providing 21 assists.

This form at club level, saw him called up to the Belgian national team by boss Roberto Martínez and he played a role in the team that made it to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.

If a deal is to happen it will likely come after the Hammers have completed the club-record signing of midfielder Lucas Paqueta from Lyon for £51million.

The Brazilian is believed to have agreed on personal terms and is due for a medical today.
