The bounce was ridiculously high and you couldn't turn quickly with the light studs. At one point they laid sand on the pitch to deaden the bounce.
Like I said Luton seemed to get it right.

I remember in 86 been crammed in the away end and I mean seriously crammed and I was beginning to worry. Then the old bill opened up more terrace. MacAvennie scoring in front of use in a 0-1 win.
Not sure they had the plastic pitch then but theirs was terrible. Luton got it right.
So what happened to plastic pitches?

I knew a couple of Spanish brothers back in the early 90's who were QPR crazy. I did go to the odd game with them now and then.
That whole no man's land of Acton was a very surreal, strange place back then. It still feels a bit like it's out on a limb even nowadays...

I lived for a while near Queens Park (NW6 iirc?) which I guess is where QPR started out. It's a few miles from where they are now but it will still be called Queens Park as will QPR...
