Doing well at Brum and just scored a cracking goal in his wing back role. The wing back we are looking for ?

Big priority for next season is a top notch left back. Cresswell is on his last legs and Emerson is a squad player rather than a first teamer. Ideally Longelo works on his defensive game and has a great season at Birmingham and comes back ready to play at the top level. Could save us a lot of money but ideally we need someone who can play in a back 4

Agree with what's been said he stood out against Zagreb but he appears not to be in Moyes plans. Good experience for him though at Birmingham.
Talking of Birmingham City have their players taken over from Leeds United players for having the doggies barnets?

Was really impressed when he played zargreb. But, like all the youngsters last season, moyes refused point blank to give any of them a chance despite putting quite a few of them on the bench and running our players into the ground

I've been banging the drum for Longelo for at least a couple of years - cracking player. Yes, I can agree that there may be doubts about his defensive acumen in a back four, but as a wing-back I think he is outstanding. Better than Emerson. A mate of mine who's a Blues fan says he was excellent tonight.

He's looking good for Brum in the game I'm watching. Very fast and up and down the pitch. I think he did not suit the "sit and defend", counter attacking model Moyes has had us playing but per the "Moyes Out" thread, if we are making the transition to more possession based, 3 at the back ( Aguerd etc with pace ) and 2 wing backs we would do well to take another look at Longelo. If you watch City, Brighton, Chelsea, Pool, Arsenal they all use the overload idea which invariably is a wing back. Not sure if Kehrer can deliver the crosses but looking at this Brum vs QPR game young Longelo seems to be able to.

Alf was only looking at Birmingham forum today, they like him. As with Ashby two fine wing backs. Longelo better attacking than defending. Ashby better all round game. Both are excellent dead ball specialists would love to see himtake a free kick if given the chance now he has his first goal. Great to hear he getting better, took him a while to get up to required fitness.he's had a few issues over the years.hope that's all behind him.

Moyes doesn’t rate him.
Said him and Ashby are like a poor man’s Ashley Cole and Gary Neville.

Everyone could see he was the pick of a bunch in that Zagreb game. No idea what the problem was but I'd rather see him fucking up and not really influencing games than Emerson
