I founded this site but it was a long time ago and I\'m long gone from the running of this place. Nov 15 1997 is the first date I can definitely confirm the site existed, though it probably ran a while before then.

I\'m @alexvfootball on twitter. Using that a lot now.

Here\'s some answers to the laundry list of complaints is aimed at me regularly on here, by what seems like a clique of people who bear a grudge, probably because I disagreed with them in an argument sometime during the last 20 years.

\"You always praise other clubs [Southampton, Swansea, Spurs, Arsenal, Villa, Newcastle, Liverpool etc]\".

So what? I praise what I think is praise-worthy, usually an aspect of a club\'s decision-making not the club itself. And it doesn\'t follow that gives those clubs a divine right to be successful, or that I think everything they do is correct, or that I think we should copy them.

\"You want to buy / fill the team with only youth players\"

I don\'t. This is just one of those silly distortions. I like youth development and think it\'s the key to progress - that doesn\'t mean I would play or buy only youth players. Senior players are great too.

\"You say player X was a bad signing, yet they\'re great on the pitch\"

I criticise signings on whether or not they were good value or the right fit, ie whether I think we gained from signing them rather than other options. It is NOT a judgement on the player themselves. An example - I loved Felipe Anderson as a younger player, I respect his talent, but I don\'t think £35m on a player who will be hard to fit in a premier league side is a good decision - at £5m I\'d be doing cartwheels.

\"You don\'t want the club to buy players\"

Rubbish. I think we should be doing more in the market, not less.

\"You\'re fishing / you\'re a contrarian / you only ever criticise\"

I think I\'ve praised plenty. But when I\'m reading a topic I tend to only directly contribute when I actually have something to say. So this will likely be a counter to an argument. So it will be contrary. If I agree I don\'t post. This is imo how discussion works, I actually don\'t know any other way of doing it.
