Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls

Fair enough mate in that case you like the bits that I do. It gets a bit more succession like in that it becomes more about Merges & Acquisitions, corporate strategy and double crossing so is more akin to Succession in that way across seasons 3 & 4.

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls

Hey Manuel, im glad you stuck with Industry as I'd recommended it highly. I personally really enjoyed seasons 1 & 2 but then I work in the industry so I liked how accurate they got some of the finer points of trading floor life albeit most of the trades were completely impossible but you have to...

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)

To be fair if you read the full interview from Jack O'Connell regarding not seeing himself as a 'Brit' its more along the lines of not pigeon holing himself in as a Brit in terms of his acting and restricting the roles he can play. He remarks about trying to speak in press events with a neutral acce...

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls

Slow Horses is brilliant and Oldman has created one of the best characters in recent yrs in Lamb. Manuel, you should stick with Industry as it gets better and there is a fair amount of Trading Floor activity over the first 2 seasons, less so from season 3 onwards but there's only so much of a story ...

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls

Industry season 4 is already top draw and probably the best thing on Television. Brilliant how they have evolved the characters from season 1 being wet behind the ears post-grads to where they are now. Kit Harrington was brilliant in last nights episode, gutted I've got to wait a week to watch the n...

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)

I watched Nuremberg and was surprised that given the cast is pretty stellar, containing the already mentioned Crowe, Woodall, Malik and also Michael Shannon who is good in everything he does, it hadnt received more hype and promotion. it just kind of went under the radar a bit it felt. Good film but...

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)

likewise I saw Caught Stealing and thought it was really good and was a surprised it hadn't garnered more attention, especially given Austin Butler has become a bit of a Hollywood darling in recent yrs since he played Elvis. Brilliant film and was really impressed with Matt Smith's role in it alongs...

Re: Lando Norris

Yeah they had money but not the sort of historic money that you associate with F1. They were a bit 'nouveau riche', big 5/6 bedroom house on the Ardleigh Green road so not quite Emerson Park proper but enough that you knew they had dough. The house the dad and brother grew up in would probably be wo...

Re: Lando Norris

I've been mates with Ollie Bearman's dad and uncle since I was about 16/17 so to see him make it through to become an F1 driver from his start in karting has been mind-blowing. Hopefully he continues his meteoric rise and can get a move to a better team than Haas in the next few years after he's got...

I agree with Zico that Spotlight is a first class film and going by the list of winners in my book would be the last worthy winner in 2015.

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)

The relief I feel knowing that im not the only one who thought this, I'd read all sorts of reviews before watching the film and sat down thinking I was in for a real treat. Im a big fan of DiCaprio, Benecio Del Toro and Sean Penn so was convinced before even switching it on that it was going to be a...

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)

I watched One Battle After Another with great expectations given the stellar cast but was left thinking what the fuck did I just watch. Sean Penn gives an incredibly performance but there just didnt appear to be a story line and barely any of it made sense. I feel like I need to watch it again just ...

Re: Moses Itauma

Itauma vs Dubois could be an interesting fight. Both got great power but I think that after maybe a couple more fights that Itauma's fight IQ, speed and footwork would probably get him the win. Dubois is just a bit dense but he's definitely got ability and well and truly took AJ to pieces. Be a good...

Re: Moses Itauma

Totally agree with CS, Parker has suddenly seen his stock rise more through the bubble burst and decent of the previously favoured fighters like AJ and Fury than through his own actions. Now neither Tyson or Joshua are seen as credible any longer the world of boxing seems to scrambling around lookin...

Guy Ritchie's The Covenant is outstanding.

Not a film but obviously Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Masters of the Air are all stellar pieces of film on the 2nd world war.

Go most years but missed last year and havent booked up to go this year yet but that is likely to change as we get closer to July. Just looking at other potential dates to head out to Ibiza as regularly go out there a couple of times each season.

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls

Manuel/Anon, don't bother if you are selective in what you watch. Im relatively happy to watch stuff that maybe isnt on the surface that great as sometimes a show can surprise you but Gangs of London is truly awful now. The first season was maybe ok and it is hugely action packed and stylishly shot ...

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls

Graham is a brilliant actor in almost everything he does but that Thousand Blows on Disney+ is fucking awful, tried my hardest to like it and its just shit with a very poorly thought out story line and the lead girl who is brilliant in Adolescence is shocking in this. Regarding Adolescence, I wouldn...
