Being in the position we are, it was always going to be difficult to attract the best players. I think we have done okay in the circumstances. The damage was done in previous transfer windows. We have been made to pay for poor signings under the last three managers.

It has been obvious that we needed a centre back, and to leave it this late is shocking. It doesn’t help being in the position we are. I suspect that Charlie Cresswell didn’t fancy relegation and playing in the Championship next season. I reckon we’ll go back in for Hardwood-Bellend in the summer.
