Shaun Wright Phillips, preferably just before he finished Ashton’s career.

Re: Chelsea vs West Ham | PL | 31.1.26 | Predictions & Match Thread
I think Cucurella handballs it while he's lying on the floor - Traore was expecting a free kick and went mental when we didn't get it. A free kick there wasn't much of a benefit versus a corner anyway, although a yellow for the midget would've been good.

Re: World War II Question
Agree about the World at War being one of the definitive programmes. Can also highly recommend the Rise of the Nazis docuseries that the BBC did (2019-2023). Stalingrad is often mentioned as a major talking point, along with Leningrad, where the estimated losses for just the Soviets were towards 2 m...

Only just found out this news today, how terribly sad. As has been mentioned 52 is no age - sincerest condolences to his family and friends. I hope reading so many posts from people who have such fond memories of using Alex's brainchild will give some much needed comfort. I joined the site around th...

Re: Best player you’ve seen live
Bobby Moore, without a shadow of a doubt! If Pele and Beckenbauer say you're the best defender in the world then you are a true legend indeed. Even Alex Ferguson had him in his best ever XI. Ironically I only managed to see him play live once, playing for Fulham against Bolton at Burnden Park in the...

Y’all obsessed with Sp*rs. I’m a bit obsessed with the John Lyall era, as they were my formative years. Coincidentally, they were also great times to be a West Ham fan! I was living in Lancashire at this point, so I was having to wait for the BBC vidiprinter to tell me the final score. Any away game...

What a performance this was - David Cross at his absolute best!
FA cup win in 1980, division two champions at a canter in 1981, then this! Those were the days - were any of you lucky enough to be there?

To be fair to Paul Hilton he played twice for us in 1985/86 - in the 4-0 away win at Stamford Bridge and the 2-1 home win against Spurs two days later!

I thought I could remember him saying he'd contact the Network. Presumably he was also TwinHammer1 then, which I think was the user that posted about it the most.
We've had a few 'interesting' posters over the years!

Well done on a smooth transition while also adding notable improvements.
Both the match reports and the view from the opposition threads always seemed to be popular reads - perhaps someone could be persuaded to resurrect those?

Re: Could Spurs get relegated?
They’ll certainly need to improve their home form if they can’t even beat Leicester. Their last 5 away games could at least make it interesting: Chelsea Wolves Liverpool West Ham Aston Villa They also managed to get relegated in 1977 despite having Pat Jennings and their god Hoddle in the team. it w...
