Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
On a related note: Spurs may have to pay Thomas Frank 18m in compensation (not sure if that’s dependent on him finding another job). apparently they lost 26m last year and 80 odd million before that. I don’t think a manager is an asset in the way a player is so Frank is just a cost and a huge cost...
Re: Nuno Out
What actually could be done about their goal? It feels incredibly risky to stick your leg out to block that shot and most likely concede a penalty. The only thing we could have done is stop the cross coming in the first place to stop that goal. It takes immense amount of skill to not really swing at...

Slightly worrying that DeZerbi just got sacked and Franks been sacked… DeZerbi to spurs? Not a good look.
Re: Nuno Out
My thing is, do you actually get to the style of play we have now without the fucking about earlier in the season? I’ve always been about the “teach a man to fish” philosophy. I’m not sure scraping some wins earlier on in the season without bedding down a consistent style of play would keep us up a...

Fuck knows where 7 minutes came from. What 7 minute incident happened in the second half? That was pure Fergie time. Ffs.

Funny that we are top 4 in form right now in the league, and the 2 of the teams above us are the next two games… Not ideal!

Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
If we get relegated this season it will be because we were too bad to stay up and nothing at all to do with the stadium. I say that because the previous two occasions we have been relegated this century our home ground was our much vaunted Boleyn Ground. We go down because our ownership has not don...

Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
interesting chat. Do we consider that the reason most clubs own their ground is because they’ve historically had no other choice? I don’t think it’s a business model of choice, rather it’s been the only model available. Right now clubs have realised they can repurpose some parts of the asset they ...

Ref cam from the Chelsea Match
Kind of fascinating really. Ref's like my old PE teacher!
I can see how some refs come to a player with biases because they talk like they know them.
Good watch.

Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
I also think "other clubs" like Everton etc have done this on vastly cheaper land than what we'd be trying to do it on, plus building costs in London are insane. Interest rates are not great right now either, so we will probably pay a third more than the Spurs fixed rate was. Unfortunatel...

Massive result, professional job despite the Referee giving Burnley every chance to get back in it.. Ironic that our only two clean sheets this season have been with Hermansen in goal. Thought he did well actually. Burnley poor bar a few early minutes second half but you can only beat what's in ...

Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
We would keep £3.33m under the stadium deal. That would wipe out any benefit we get from paying “just” £4m in rent. On one issue (stadium sponsorship) alone. But we would be paying 50m+ a year in repayment costs for borrowing to build the stadium in the first place! It's not that it wouldn't ...

I never know what to think with these changes? I dont understand the GK change at all (has Areola got a knock?) Starting a defender who hasn't played at all in ages? 2 out and out forwards looks good though. Maybe the idea with the GK is to keep possession more, play out from the back etc. And with ...

Been through this many times on WHO, and the OP on this thread was pure rage bait. But the argument about whether it’s beneficial to own your stadium or not…that debate is over in the current climate. Under the PSR rules, and even more under the SCR rules that will replace them this summer, it’s a ...

Uplifting post, see you next season. If Leeds are safe by the last game then maybe that makes that last game easier for us? Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise? Forest look like they have 3 winnable games in their run. They also have Europe. I suppose that means we have to win 6 games or 5 and a draw. it would be miraculous if we...
