Released Mandleson documents contain surprise revelation: This weekend's PL Match schedule (6th - 8th February 2026)
Premier League
Friday, 6 February 2026 20:00
Leeds United v Nottingham Forest
Venue: Elland Road
League Positions: 17 v 16
Current Forms: 19 v 27
Is it possible for a team to be involved in a "real 6-pointer" when they're not actually playing in it? Seems like it's true. I've seen (valid) arguments for either team to win for "our benefit", but that simply makes one of these teams more difficult to catch if we (Sullivan & his cronies are actually all that matter) really want to stay in the PL. In reality we need both teams to drop points and the only way that happens is a:
Prediction: Draw
Premier League
Saturday, 7 February 2026 12:30
Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur
Venue: Old Trafford
League Positions: 4 v 14
Current Forms: 37 v 26
In an ideal world, both teams would lose this game. Sadly, in the world in which West Ham and it's fans live lacks such quantum qualities. Carrick's cat still seems to be bouncing about and I strongly suspect it will continue doing so after this game. The stats seem to support that view.
Prediction: Home Win
Premier League
Saturday, 7 February 2026 15:00
A. F. C. Bournemouth v Aston Villa
Venue: Dean Court
League Positions: 11 v 3
Current Forms: 33 v 27
Both teams have a similar current form and Bournemouth are no pussies, but I feel that Villas desire for a Champions League spot will carry more venom than The Cherries drive for mid-table mediocrity,
Prediction: Away Win
Premier League
Saturday, 7 February 2026 15:00
Arsenal v Sunderland
Venue: Emirates Stadium
League Positions: 1 v 7
Current Forms: 24 v 30
Can anyone or anything stop the Arsenal finally getting their hands on the title? It does seem theirs to lose at the moment, so we can only hope they start going all "spursy" if only to keep the table interesting (and the sponsors interested). Sunderland have a fight about them which I feel will unsettle Arsenal, but don't think they have enough of a punch in them to come away with anything here.
Prediction: Home Win
Premier League
Saturday, 7 February 2026 15:00
Burnley v West Ham United
Venue: Turf Moor
League Positions: 19 v 18
Current Forms: 14 v 27
I'm sure we all know the old adage about "if you want a win, just look for the game when you're playing West Ham", so I won't add to the pain by repeating it. That being said, we really do need all 3 points here...as do our hosts. Can we do it? Well, last weekend's 1st half against Chelsea suggests it's within our capabilities, but, equally the 2nd half of that same game displayed, for all, our ability to self-destruct. We do, though have a better current form.
So. Will we? Won't we? Will we? Won't we? Follow the gourd or follow the shoe? Bob Hope or no hope? Head says a draw, but what little hope remains in my heart just about tips the balance (Although you just know that one of their acquisitions: in the January window will suddenly find his form/scoring boots again). Still, just - but only just - an:
.
Prediction: Away Win
Premier League
Saturday, 7 February 2026 15:00
Fulham v Everton
Venue: Craven Cottage
League Positions: 9 v 10
Current Forms: 21 v 19
No, I don't really care either about this game; either team could snatch that last European spot, but, equally either team can watch their season fizzle out into mid-table oblivion (Oh! How much would we love to be in such a position!!!???). As for the result?:
Prediction: Home Win
Premier League
Saturday, 7 February 2026 15:00
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Chelsea
Venue: Molineux
League Positions: 20 v 5
Current Forms: 10 v 30
Wolves seem to play well against London clubs...oh, no. Wait! That's just against one London club. Us. With "London" on our badge/crest, so we must (MUST) be from, err, London. Not sure they've actually strengthened in any position across the side and have sold their main potential goal threat (to a rival). Can only really see one outcome here:
Prediction: Away Win
Premier League
Saturday, 7 February 2026 17:30
Newcastle United v Brentford
Venue: St James' Park
League Positions: 12 v 8
Current Forms: 6 v 24
Intriguing game, this. Man City battered Newcastle in the League Cup earlier in the week and their current form stinks. Brentford seem, let's be frank, to be holding their own in the league. I suspect a feisty tie, with one or two cards shown, but the spoils to be shared.
Prediction: Draw
Premier League
Sunday, 8 February 2026 14:00
Brighton & Hove Albion v Crystal Palace
Venue: Falmer Stadium
League Positions: 13 v 15
Current Forms: 15 v 6
Games like this are why Sundays were invented. The whole nation will be glued to their boxes, unable to even go for a piddle or get another beer in while play is in progress. Not. The Eagles descend on the Seagulls' nest, as one copy editor never wrote. No change in the table pecking order after this game, not even a claw draw.
Prediction: Home Win
Premier League
Sunday, 8 February 2026 16:30
Liverpool v Manchester City
Venue: Anfield
League Positions: 6 v 2
Current Forms: 34 v 34
Listen up! Media pundits will incessantly have you believe that this is the game of the weekend. Don't be turned by their siren song. That game took place yesterday and as a result of the result, we'll all either have the right fucking hump or be displaying the glimmer of a smile. This should be Liverpool's game, purely due to home advantage, but a little bird tells me it won't be goal-less for the visitors:
Prediction: Away Win

Only saw the Leeds vs Forest result this morning. If we are to stay up it will be the hard way. All we can do it to try to keep getting as many wins as possible and hope that one of those teams barely picks up any points. It doesn't matter which team it is.

But bottom line this year looks like needing 40 points minimum to stay up....a huge shift of the bar.
The record was 42 points and relegated (us of course)....don't see it being broken....but it could be run close.
Gut feel right now is we end up with 35 to 38 points (Which doesn't look like being enough)...though that would mean 40 points is once again the magical safety barrier...just this year think it's us that doesn't get there. If we win today but lose to Man Utd and Forest beat Wolves it's back to 6 point again. All if's and but's but as has been said the December run has fucked us, not to mention Leeds, Brentford, B'Mouth, Villa and Chelsea. Even Nuno on Thursday had to admit these lost points has been a disaster.By and large this season rests in Sullivan's shoulders. Allowing the squad to wither to a point where there is an inability to maintain a tactic as legs tire because you have no meaningful bench options ...he self appointed himself Director of Football, so that's on him regardless.
But it's a 5-sub game these days, which means you need a First 16 not a first XI....if you can't replace half your outfield side with players of comparable ability when the players tire then you're behind. This is not new it seems to anyone but our 'fearlesa leader'.
Would Nuno have made the same negative subs in all those winning positions? Who knows. But that he didn't have the option from a replacements perspective to do anything but is on Sullivan.
This relegation will be his legacy. He won't give a fuck as he'll make millions regardless, but the man is an ignorant, out of touch, club-killing cսnt. It's taken us a while to get there, but Birmingham City here we come. His final act will no doubt be to sell us to some bankrupt halfwit or international fraudster Carson Yeung stylee.
Relegation means they'll likely have one last throw of the dice in that first season before the whole future earnings borrrowinga unsustainable "hide the 100m debt" Ponzi Scheme unravels and we find ourselves having to rebuild from the ground up.
Yep, can't argue with that, but would say I don't think every dropped point was down to what we had, or didn't have, on the bench. Nuno does not get a free pass by a long chalk, for me anyway.

Think that January window a couple of seasons ago was my tipping point to negativity? When we were 5th and needed a striker, but instead sat on our hands, pleaded poverty etc, i did read we were offered Julien Alverez but turned him down at about 15M, sure it was a rumour, he then went to Man City the following summer, but NO we decided to stay with 1 (one) first team striker in the injury prone Antonio....................West Ham in a nutshell that!
Mind you in my 60,s now i should be used to this stuff, cant be arsed though anymore
Wasn’t a rumor. Moyes said it on tha podcast with Stephen Bartlett. And he was kind of proud of it from what I remember. But yeah, that’s was a sliding doors moment for the club. If we’d have gotten Alvarez or any other striker in to complement Antonio we would have made CL. But that’s West Ham for you…
We seem never to make the obvious decision on critical issues or make the decision at the wrong time. Just seems part of the psyche here.

If we win today the only thing that has changed is we're 3 points closer to Forest and have one less game to close the gap on Leeds

Sorry about that

Leeds maybe not the best side but you got to give them credit for fighting and never giving up, that alone will see them safe, Spurs going down is a nice thought but that's about it!!! Palace could be interesting but i think they will have enough in them to stay up.
All in all i think we are fucked, we still have the Cup, but don't hold your breath on that one, should get through to round 5 but anything but a lower league team in the next draw and i expect we will duly fall over and go out with a whimper as per normal especially if its top half PL side.
Shit season, shit football club, but no more than we deserve the way the owners and board have gone about things and if we don't bounce back next season, expect an extended stay in the championship, a half empty stadium and even a default, fine, points deduction and some time in Div 1 if things really go pear shaped.
As to other results this weekend, itsfrom me..........
Uplifting post, see you next season.

Re: Released Mandleson documents contain surprise revelation: This weekend's PL Match schedule (6th - 8th February 2026)
It's one big fucking mountain we need to climb to get out of this mess and i really can't see it, Forest are all over the place but keep puling a result out of the hat, as they did against us! Leeds maybe not the best side but you got to give them credit for fighting and never giving up, that alone will see them safe, Spurs going down is a nice thought but that's about it!!! Palace could be interesting but i think they will have enough in them to stay up.

We can now forget about Leeds and let's stop this silly chat about Spurs and Palace as that ain't happening. It's only Forest and they are a decent side and have Wolves at home midweek. It's looking grim, but we knew that already.
That Forest home defeat looks horrific now, even a draw would have been OK.

LOL
If we can produce the type of performance we did first half against Chelsea going forward then yeah, I stand by what I said.

Forest look like they have 3 winnable games in their run. They also have Europe.
I suppose that means we have to win 6 games or 5 and a draw.
it would be miraculous if we can achieve that. But it’s clear now what we have to do.
It was clear what we had to do when the current twat took over, it made very little difference but at least we got to see his magical inverted fullback system
Spilt milk and all that…

its looking highly unlikely we survive based on our weak squad and inability to get clean sheets / defend.
We need a miracle level run from now to end of season with no more suspensions or injuries and everyone playing out of their skin.
A draw would arguably have been better tonight

Unless we start capitalising on good situations ourselves it'll all be irrelevant by then.
