I see those that protested against the rape of a girl in Northern Ireland have already been labelled "racist thugs".

Around 20 years ago Bristol City Council paid an astronomical amount of money to remove Banksy graffiti from a bridge on the M32, 100k IIRC. Which was completely pointless as the whole area concerned was covered in graffiti and still is.

And now whenever graffiti is removed from anywhere in Bristol, the same council has issued instructions to leave his stuff as it is.

So essentially they wasted 100k on getting rid of something, that if it had been left alone, they'd now be promoting as a tourist attraction.

Still, lesson learnt and all that, so why not waste another few hundred grand on rainbow crossings across the city. Not like they're so strapped for cash that they have to close libraries and centers for the deaf etcetcetc

How can it cost £50k to paint a zebra crossing even in multiple colours?

Surely that can't be real.

If it is real I'm setting up my LGTBQAFDFFAFA+ zebra crossing company tomorrow morning.  I'll do it for £49,500.

As Andrew Doyle says, if the book was the personal property of the bloke, he should be able to dispose of it in any way he sees fit.
