"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Chris Grier finally gone not that he was all that was wrong. One look at the state our backfield shows it certainly is a big problem.
Last night's Ravens match was a pretty ugly watch all round. It was weird as we were actually moving the ball pretty easily before finding new and interesting ways to balls it up. The tripping penalty was pretty harsh as Ollie Gordon slipped over and the "trip" was a complete accident. Tua would still have got the pass off easily even if the trip hadn't happened either.

How the fuck did I end up a West Ham and Raiders fan. 0-2 to Brentford and 0-31 to the Chiefs in less than 24 hours. Soul destroying ! Our last 3 QBs , Noodle arm Jimmy G, mincing Minshew and now the walking pick Gino Smith. Pete needs to retire.

That line with Mangold at centre, and Ferguson and (later) Colon either side of him, was outstanding. They created the time and space for runners like Thomas Jones, Shonn Greene, Ladainian Tomlinson and Chris Ivory to consistently top 1,000 yards.

They had to, of course, because our QBs were always quite poor!

Proper player, Nick Mangold.

What a player he was. It's very sad. Proper lineman, genuine leader.

The Jets match was superb white knuckle stufff as well.
Tua picking the Falcons to bits and our defence suffocating the Falcons is not what I was expecting and a nice surprise.

I did try to watch the superbowl once but it was so boring. The English commentator was an idiot who kept referring to DEEfence and OFFence. Cheerleaders, people with big foam gloves, a bloke playing a banjo dressed as a cowboy, and the inane jargon of the commentary team all irritated me. The last straw was when the Washington Redskins scored a touchdown the team started doing a dance like the Okey Kokey. I said to myself fuck this and went to bed. It was so long and boring when watched live. Maybe the quarter back needs a little bit of skill but most of the rest only need to be big fuckers. In the paper the next day the reporter referred to the half time entertainment as "barbaric."  Let's face it, it is a shit sport.

Might not be your cup of tea, fella: I get that. It’s a marmite sport.

But the idea that there’s “no skill” involved is bonkers.

It’s very skilful if you know what you’re looking at. Unless you’re watching the Jets. In which case, I understand every word you’re saying.

I loved watching Barry Sanders and Sweetness. But my favourite old school player is Dick Butkus the human demolition man.

Watching both West Ham and the Jets right now is like hammering giant nails into your own eyes - twice every weekend.

There’s just no escape from relentless misery. This could be the longest season in all of sport.

The whisky stock must be high.

Niners getting it done. Shanahan has to be a coach of the year candidate.

CMC looks unstoppable all of a sudden and the Defwnse hasn’t missed a step even with Bosa and Warner out.

As Kittle gets healthy and Pearsall and Aiyuk return we will have enough of an offense to play a more balanced style of offense.

Question is will Purdy get back up to speed quick enough when he returns cos Mac Jones is playing lights out.

Vikes fell to a predictable defeat albeit a fairly close one considering our injury list.

Of course, the injury situation throughout the roster is abysmal but there's an old saying about knowing the price of everything, but the value of nothing. You reward consistency and leadership, and the front office dropped a bollock
Yeah, Washington has lost some of the excellent momentum from last year, TM. The treatment of McLaurin is really odd - he's an excellent WR and most sides would give their right arm to have him. So to speak!

Daniels not being 100% hasn't helped, either. It was always going to be a challenging year for him after last season's amazing performances - not least because HCs now have a lot of tape to watch and will prioritise containing him. So his extra fitness issues - missing a couple of games etc - have not helped. You've probably seen a lot more of him, but he hasn't looked 100% whenever I've seen him this season.
