"Just finished The Killing liked it a lot but not really the last season as much. Breaking Bad, Homeland done Was going to do Luther or The Wire next - can you tell me which one is best of the two?"

"Nagel 7:15 Sun May 17 Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls Ted, yeah it gets better. First few episodes seemed like a poor reworking of the film but it improves. Also, all 3 seasons are completely separate and self-contained so you could always try out season 2, which is the best one I think. Just finished series 1 of Fargo and you were spot on Nagel we really enjoyed it."

You could read a book while Mrs Road watches it. Or have a nice bubble bath (don't knock the bubbles till you've tried it). Or watch Mousetrap Monday on YouTube.

"Fair enough, what about the acting and storylines? One of my problems with it is how unlikeable the main characters are. I like the young girl who runs the casinos with them although she overplays the role a bit but the character I don’t mind, the main family though are just a bunch of insipid, pseudo-intellectual moralists. I want to see them wiped out by the Mexican Mafia and someone else take over the lead. My other problem is that I have to watch it because Mrs Road likes it."

I don't see it that way. The hillbillies are portrayed as being rather savvy. Same as Justified. Dewey Crowe notwithstanding.

Ozarks is just Hollywood taking the piss out of middle America for being (in their view) thick and uncultured. Bloody ridiculous story lines and terrible acting

"I need to crack on with Ozark and get it finished, started to lose interest after Helen became all pally and brought her kids down. The character Ruth was starting to irritate me as well. First 2 seasons were great!"

I've now witnessed Darlene get naked and laid not once but twice in Ozark. The makers really are sick cunts.

I thought it was good but far from the best sports documentary ever. The main reason was because Jordan had a big hand in controlling the narrative of it so we only got to see what he wanted us to see. The best documentaries should be a bit more objective than that.

"Have been steaming through Taskmaster again. Not just the best programme ever on Dave, but would rival many of the comedy shows on any channel."
