He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

Other than a move to different platforms of advertising that affects all groups. There are missteps or even huge gaffs like in every industry but there is no trending to say that it is damaging. Your personal - conciscious - purchasing habits aside (I have them as well), advertising works and continues to grow, pandemic year aside. Even though most people say it does not affect them."

"All ""leaders"" in the big national company I work at have to take a, three day inclusive leadership course. I've done the first two days. It was basically two days, of being told by an EDI specialist how not to be a massive racist or homophobe. At the end of the second day we were asked what we'd ""take away with us"". I actually learnt nothing from it so I can't remember what I said. To be fair the content wasn't mad or anything. It was just ""don't be racist"" etc for two days. That could have been done in an email. The person delivering the training was apparently massively expensive. Good gig. In the lunch break there was a discussion about how our company was perceived and how unfair it was that we'd been criticised as a company for being woke. I said to them all it's because we ARE woke and that's not representative of how the majority of public think. There was tumbleweed at that comment. I don't think anyone has ever said that out loud to them before. I've still got day 3 to come."

We certainly don't know this has happened to an optimal degree or whether the advertising agencies have been wasting their clients' money. I have lived abroad for 15 years and my views on Britain come via TV. I hadn't realised that Britain was full of gay people and Mixed heritage couples. Some of my friends that mostly live in SW England assure me that isn't true. I don't believe them because it must be so when it is so accurately reflected on TV....

Lots of Native kids played hockey for instance. You play ball - he coaches it. Why is boys and girls and different backgrounds tending to go into and not go into different fields considered some sort of problem that needs correcting? Not enough Asian girls into football you say? Shall we extend this to not enough wealthy Nigerian girls into bricklaying or not enough heterosexual white working class boys into wedding planning? Eliminating all social peer group influence and individual choices is not exactly realistic. You'll be close to eliminating free will.

And conclude that the likely actual root of the problem is not enough black/asian/non white girls getting involved at a young age or sticking with it through teenage years. So therefore how do you tackle THAT problem? The fact that there aren't many non white players in the current squad is only a symptom of that problem. The manager is clearly picking the best players from the pool available to her, as results will testify. Rather than the knee jerk solution of imposing selection criteria to the manager, which will likely cause her to resign anyway, look at what can be done to get more non white girls coming through the system from school age up."
