West Ham United sign young Venezuela winger Keiber Lamadrid on loan
West Ham United is pleased to announce the signing of promising young Venezuela international winger Keiber Lamadrid on loan for the rest of the 2025/26 season.
The 22-year-old arrives from Venezuelan Super Cup holders Deportivo La Guaira, with an option to make the transfer permanent in the summer.
Lamadrid, who has not played competitively since the 2025 Liga FUTVE season concluded in early December, will initially continue his physical conditioning with the Club’s medical team, having only recently commenced a pre-season schedule.
Born in Caracas, Lamadrid earned his first senior cap for Venezuela in November. He has played over 100 times for Deportivo La Guaira since debuting at the age of 18 and was named Best Under-23 Player in the Venezuelan top-flight for the 2025 season. The exciting young attacker is looking forward to continuing his development with the Hammers. “It's an incredible opportunity to be here at this beautiful Club,” he said. “I thank God first of all, and all the people who helped me get here. I also thank my family, who always supported me. For me, it's a dream to be here.“I'm excited to grow as a person, as a player, and I want to do well at this Club. I want to adapt as quickly as possible, to continue growing as a player and open doors again for Venezuelan football. Nothing is impossible.”Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Keiber to East London and wish him the very best for his career in Claret and Blue.

This may be Sullivan's way of pre-empting any question that he cares for the club's future.
If asked, he can point to transfers like this, knowing full well that the player will never get a sniff at a first team start here and be rotated out of the club in a year or so as the next "care-about-the-future" youngster is rolled in, on, probably, the back of yet a another well-stuffed brown envelope.

Frankly, there's something odd about this "transfer".
As people have said, it's a waste of a loan for a team in a relegation dogfight and he's 22 years old: yet will train with the stiffs/youth?
Is it compulsory for us to have a Guilherme figure in the squad?
Probably just Sullivans childish 'Well if the manager gets to pick a player he wants, then so do I!' attitude to transfers. The same one which has landed us in this fucking mess to begin with. I expect that he put anything Nuno wanted or NEEDED on hold until he got his little folly into the club. Also a handy way of stalling as he's clearly going week to week on what his transfer strategy is depending on the results through the month. What a truly awful, short sighted way to run a football club.

I reckon he gets his chance at Burton and smashes a couple of goals.

Im struggling to see the point of this "loan" signing, by the sounds of things he wont be playing or anywhere near the 1st team?
Its either a Sullivan special and he's gone out and got him and then given him to Nuno and co OR as we have the option to buy in the summer, assuming he adapts to English football ok, he will be mustard in the championship................

We wont see him in the first team until Nuno is gone which means at best he makes his first team debut in the Championship imo
Another 3 points up for grabs Saturday against a strong Sunderland outfit. We’ve done nothing to “rebalance” ( as Nuno said 3 weeks back ) squad in the last 2- 3 weeks so Im guessing, despite a surprise win at Spurs, that Sullivan, other board owners not really believing in survival hence its not worth spending any more ?
We lose Saturday and all the renewed hope will descend into a toxic depression.
He only on loan till the end of this season. If we go down then I suspect we won't be signing him permanently anyway.
I expect we are more likely to sign him if we do. Championship probably closer to his level if he’s even capable of that. We won’t see him on the bench. He’s not played since December and is in the equivalent of preseason training now. So not only is he an absolute punt quality wise, he’s also not match fit for about a month most likely. An utterly pointless signing at this moment in time. I think we need to just forget about this lad entirely with regard to the first team this season and any notion he has any sort of role to play for us.

Lad didn't even get a signing video, and sounds like will be training with the youth. By that standard 22 is quite old really. Hope he has something, but got my doubts.

I'm surprised about all the noise there has been around this signing considering he's just a player going into the academy and probably not to be heard of again. In Nuno's presser he totally dismissed the question when asked about him, had zero interest in it.

Hopefully he doesn't make a keiber pass of himself when he gets a chance.

I guess Sullivan is so desperate to put bums on seats he is now tapping into the Venezuelan market
Good luck to the lad but is he what we need right now as we battle against relegation?
Embarrassing

At least we aren't paying a big fee up front for this lad. Hopefully an option of the bench.

Hope this signing works for us.
But.........notice the term 'promising' in the profile.
He'll probably be with us for a couple of seasons and make a handful of starts, before being carted off elsewhere.
Hope I'm wrong.

So many deals I’ve through were dodgy and this is another. Hugill, Kilman and this lad are all iffy. There are probably more that escape me at the moment.
Agreed but some of the deals done by Harry after Rio departed were in a different ballpark .
Rob Jones and Gary Charles two prime examples.

Good god will we ever learn and wake up and smell the coffee.
We need players that are oven ready not the slow cooker type.
Well, we should have been looking at players like this (but let's be honest with a bit more research behind it rather than Sullivans mate calling him) 2-3 years ago so they'd be ready now to make an impact. Instead we went after expensive has beens or never weres.
NOW when we really need experienced players who can hit the ground running and immediately make an impact, Sullivan chooses this moment to take a total punt on an unknown. As usual the exact opposite of what's needed. Why not a bargain basement winger from the arse end of nowhere who won't even be match fit for weeks and likely won't ever play for us or a big commanding centre back or experienced forward.
Beggars belief.
I can't for the life of me think why any half decent player has second thoughts when it comes to the idea of joining WH.
I am amazed any player with any nous still agrees to join us. Every owner, player, manager and agent must know about Sullivan and the circus that is West Ham. Only for the money or to bend him over in negotiations. All you have to do is stoke his ego and pretend he's 'won' and he'll roll over. There must be a mixture of groans and rubbing of hands with glee when Sullivan sends a poorly written email over. You have to deal with him and his stupid 'tactics' in negotiation but you know you can fleece him if you put up with it.
