Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

"King's speech today: blatant institutionalised racism. Right there on the BBC. Every year, BLACK Rod is denied access to a key area of the country's governing structure - EVERY year. BLACK Rod. Really surprised that the relevant institutions are not on the game over this - had it been BLACK Winston, or BLACK De La Toyota, social media would be incandescent, but Rod? Nah! Probably some Scotch git who deserves having the door slammed in his face."

"Fifth Column 5:26 Mon Nov 6 BLM wasn't disrespectful either, at least in theory, and the first thing some of them did was deface war memorials. We both know that certain types attach themselves to anything vaguely left-wing or humanitarian in order to do that sort of thing. And tbh, I lean pro-Palestinian (NOT pro-Hamas which shouldn't even need clarifying) but they could have picked any weekend for this protest; its hard to believe whoever organised it didn't know the risks of picking that particular date."

Re: Woke watch
"Fifth Column 5:26 Mon Nov 6 I've got no issues at promoting a better life for the Palestinians, but I have a big issue with Hamas being bundled in, by default, with pro-Palestinian protests. I suspect that the whole civilised world is anti-Hamas, yet these protests seem to be, by default, embracing Hamas and their actions. Until I see as much - or more - anti Hamas as there is pro-Palestine support at these events I find it very hard to even consider offering my support - and it is people like me who's support they need."

"Not really Trundle. More likely to have posters for lost sheep where I live. And bringing this thread back to its original intent... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-67326713 A bunch of tree huggers decide that the sheep that was rescued from the bottom of a cliff shouldn't be housed in a petting zoo but instead should be in an animal sanctuary. ""But a row quickly erupted when an animal rights group criticised plans to rehome her at a farm park because they believed she would be ""exploited"" for money and become a ""spectacle"". On Sunday a small group of activists from Animal Rising - which earlier this year tried to disrupt a number of high-profile horse races - staged a protest at Dalscone Farm. A spokesperson said: ""It was a peaceful, non-violent demonstration. We want Fiona to be rehomed at a sanctuary rather than a petting zoo"""" From The River To The Sea, Fiona The Sheep Will Be Free they chanted."

Re: Woke watch
Westside The article you shared proving it's on a Sunday literally states it's on a Saturday afternoon. On Armistice Day (11th November each year) there is the two minutes' silence at 11am. This year it falls on a Saturday. The demo will start at 2pm and not go anywhere near the Cenotaph. So it won't be during the silence in the morning and it won't be during the remembrance ceremonies taking place on the Sunday. it is a protest on a Saturday afternoon calling for a ceasefire to stop civilians being killed in their thousands. There is nothing disrespectful about that. Mike There have been pro Palestinian rallies in London over many decades. They are nearly always mainly white non Muslims in attendance in the majority. I know because I've been to a lot of them. I haven't been to any of the ones in recent years as I'm not living in London anymore.

"Fifth Column 9:33 Mon Nov 6 When 11th of Novemver is NOT a Sunday, there are two (TWO) revered days in the calendar where the nation comes together to thank and remember all those who have given their lives for their country (and not given their lives for 72 virgins promised to them by a unicorn-riding illiterate fuckwit). How come it's so hard to not respect the feelings of the nation some have deliberately chosen to make their home?"

How comes Bob Stewart gets found guilty of racism and faces losing his job yet Karen Carney get's found guilty by the FA of a similar thing and is now head of a Government task force and a regular on sky sports?

"Mike if you're talking about the Palestine demo it's not on Remembrance Sunday. It's on Saturday afternoon. This one, is on Remembrerance Sunday. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/nov/05/dowden-concerns-about-pro-palestine-marches-armistice-day"

Re: Woke watch
"Given that, as a nation, we don't celebrate much/at all St. George on 23rd April and many of us don't have an English flag draped over our property/flying from a flag pole, Remembrance Day is probably the closest to a national bonding event as England has ever had. This despite it being celebrated and respected in many parts of the world. The further East I've lived & worked, the less it is respected...or even acknowledged. Little wonder less-than-wise men coming from that East fail to understand it's significance here - they've not grown up with it."

"Wouldn't worry too much about whatever will of won't happen on Remembrance Day, the police have more important stuff to deal with like... *checks notes* https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-67294873.amp Arresting people for Halloween costumes."

Re: Woke watch
What I am about to type is 100% true and not some comedy skit from not the 9 o'clock news. A just stop oil protestor appeared in court today in relation to invading the stage at the Les Miserable play. She asked the judge if the proceedings could take place after February because.....and this is true.....she doesn't want it to interfere with her plans to fly to India. The judge basically told her to fuck off.

"The American Ornithological Society (AOS) has made a new commitment to change English-language bird names that have connections with individuals with racist or colonial pasts, as well as ""other names deemed offensive and exclusionary"". In a statement, the AOS revealed the decision had come about following ""careful consideration of recommendations by the AOS ad hoc English Bird Names Committee, which was first tasked with the project back in 2022. Guess that means Tits are out,,, if you know what I mean!!"

Comma Says who? Speak for yourself It is not Israel problem if Hamas uses them as human shields. Israel business is with Hamas and that is who they are targeting. Who is it that keeps voting Hamas in? Anyhow this is about the pro Hamas mob over here targeting remembrance day
