"Just finished The Killing liked it a lot but not really the last season as much. Breaking Bad, Homeland done Was going to do Luther or The Wire next - can you tell me which one is best of the two?"

"Ex - Sorry mate, but I'm not jealous of you, I would be if you were roaring up Jennifer Anniston, but not because you are watching The Wire :-) I watched it back when and loved it, wouldn't watch it again though, but I've never watched any series twice. I fancy either The Americans or Snowfall, but it's a lot of tv and find it a bit daunting to start on one."

"Miike - he was one of them, the scene I referring to was with Clarence Royce, played by Glynn Turman. Gillan’s character was excellent too. I’d say they were all perfect for the roles they played - just exceptional writing, directing and acting."

"Miike - so many highlights across all seasons. I did slightly prefer the series in the docks, but the others are exceptional too. Laughted out loud at Herc’s reaction to catching the Mayor in a compromising situation."

"Ex, the thing about The Wire (and it may be just me) is it gets better as each series progresses. My favourite is series 4, but the quality never drops right to the end. Bubs & Omar are my favourite characters"

I watched the whole series of the Sopranos two or three times and used to feel sort of jealous of people who were watching it for the first time. Feel like I’m in the opposite position with the Wire.

"I'm watching (re-watching) Prime Suspect (Britbox) In the first few series nobody has a mobile phone, so people are going about their day quite contentedly unaware of disasters befalling them till hours later. Coppers asking members of the public if they can use their (landline) phone to call the nick. SOCOs leaning over the corpses of murder victims and chatting with their hair and mouths uncovered. The computers and computer displays in the incident room are hilariously antediluvian. And everybody smokes inside public buildings. It was only 30 years ago, but feels like ancient history"

Can't believe it's taken this many years to get round to watching it but The Wire. The character and acting of Bubbles is brilliant. Only on series 1 !!

"onsideman 3:17 - Ha wicked, That's a good point actually, I wonder how many people end up watching something they usually wouldn't because they watch it as a couple? Considering the rest of my top viewing is either gangster/drugs etc 'This is Us' is a bit of a side step but the writing I thought is amazing, especually as it flits back and forth a lot through the timeline."

I’ve been told it’s one of the few things where the series has managed to be quite accurate to the books Bonds78….so hopefully you’ll get into it…..

Ray/Side I'll start Bosch this week. The books the character is based on are always a good read.

"Like you ray, I really like the Bosch series, very convincing cast and none of them over the top characters which is a welcome change when it happens….such good storylines as well….going to save the episodes up…as I like to watch them a few at a time…"

"Snowfall is one of the best things I've seen for a while, Decent music, setting and storyline. I think it's still actually on iPlayer? Not sure if it's been mentioned but I did read back one page!! The aforementioned 'The Americans' is really good. As is the Mayans if not taken too seriously, a bit like SoA. One of the others is 'This is Us' probably a bit gay for all the geezers on here but the storyline, music and also memories it stirs up of family, growing up etc is superb. It gets a bit political but it does deal with a few issues with humour or even emotional storytelling."
