Recently/Currently watching:

For All Mankind (alternate space history...what if USSR won the race to land on the moon). Worth a watch.

All American (black lad from the hood gets taken to Beverly Hills to become a high school football star). Good if you like coming of age American Football dramas...a bit like Friday Night Lights. Only on season 1 though .

Parenthood (One to watch with the missus
Light hearted family-based drama..Pretty good, all be it a bit asinine).

I really liked the Joker, so I'm dreading to see what they've done to the sequel.

I normally struggle with spin offs because the majority of them are just cash cows for the original project, but I'm quite keen to see the Penguin from what's been said on here.

Yep, The Penguin looks great and not as dark as I thought it might be. I love the Batman films and the spin off stuff, although The Joker sequel is meant to be shit.

I have done the caley sleeper about 30 times being an anorak and I couldn't handle it myself.

Regarding the sleeper they upgraded the rolling stock about 5 years ago and the seated section is 10 times worse.

Night Sleeper on the BBC is simply the worst drama I have ever endured.  Avoid at all costs.

Yeah I watched The Perfect Couple and enjoyed it. Nice to see the once love of my life Isabella Adjani (watch La Reine Margot) acting again. I probably still would.

DD Lewis bagged her didn't he?

Finished Kaos on Netflix, not something I’d usually be into but really enjoyed it.

we’re watching “ breeders” now with Martin Freeman, decent watch.

has anyone seen “this country” I’ve never heard of it but it’s supposed to be brilliant.

I got excited when I saw they're making a Lord of the Flies 6 part TV series with Hans Zimmer doing the music.

Then I saw it was the BBC making it.  😖

Great start to Slow Horses. Bit shocked as not to spoil but a main character dies but does he/she ? I hope not.

"I was aware of it before but what I found fascinating hearing from Rick was the amount of interference he suffered during his career from producers and the like. I understand putting money in to a film and wanting to have a say but when you hire ""an expert"" in a particular field surely you are hiring them because of their expertise so just leave them alone and allow them to do what they do well and you might just end up with a better film than what you end up with with interference. The proof of it shows when you compare American Werewolf, where Landis just let him do his thing bar original instructions on what Landis wanted, and The Wolfman which should have been a great film but wasn't. I saw something recently on You Tube where someone had edited various scenes in Jason and The Argonauts, including the classic skeletons scene, to make them ""smoother"" and less clunky. It looked awful compared to the original. As I say there are reasons why these experts are experts. Bit like Sullivan hiring a DOF then deciding to sign players himself!"

"yes, that's a great interview with rick baker. I remember watching it (unless he's done a second one) back before he stopped posting on youtube (now back on there). he released a great book about his career, but it was very expensive back then. probably want even more for it now"

"Great docu series on Netflix, Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War. Brilliantly narrated by Ed Harris, you think you know all about it because of the Ok Corrall films but that's not the half of it. Also there is a really interesting podcast on Spotify that I stumbled across. Joe Rogan talking to retired Special Effects expert Rick Baker. If you find it interesting on how films like American Werewolf or Jason and the Argonauts are made it's a fascinating watch."

"Started the Long Shadow about the Yorkshire ripper. It's not been glammed up in any way, pretty raw and brings it home what a truly evil cսnt he was, after becoming a bit of a minor celebrity in later years. Many of his victims had young kids. Toby Jones starring in it is a big tick."
