Well it's a fast turnaround for this one.  After a hard fought, but somewhat disappointing point at Old Trafford, we head to the south coast for an arguably more difficult looking game on paper.

Brighton have been a bogey side since they arrived in the division, as well as being the envy of many fans for their progressive owner and stellar recruitment model.

Teamwise, Nuno gets to 'bring' Paqueta back (I won't use the term 'welcome'), and the messaging around Summerville remains opaque at best.  Plus as to what happened to Guilherme who knows, but with both him and Igor missing we went from a squad of 3 Braziliians to none versus Man Utd in one fell swoop.

This leaves at least a decision around Soucek, but if Summerville (or Guilherme) were to be available, another decision around 2 of 3 from Fernandes, Magassa, and Potts.

Predicted Lineup

I'm working on the basis that Paqueta will come back in, and Summerville will at best be fit for the bench:
Areola

Wan Bissaka  Mavropanos  Todibo  Diouf

Magassa  Potts

Bowen   Paqueta   Fernandes

Wilson

Subs:  Hermansen, Kilman, KWP, Irving, Kante, Earthy, Guilherme, Summerville, Marshall
Predicted Score:  Brighton 2 - 1 West Ham

Brighton remain high up in the current form table, scoring twice as many as they concede.  West Ham are midtable over the last 5 games, are at a scoring ratio of roughly 1:1.

Hard to see anything but a defeat here, but we have a punchers chance (all be it, the blows themselves are fairly lightweight and will need to find the Brighton chin with surgical precision to knock them out).

And Mavropanos is jumping, he’s about a foot off the ground! High kick, I remember Carlton Cole getting sent off at Upton Park for less than this! Red was rescinded I think!

Mad Dog, ignore him.  He's the most tedious, repetitive, negative, no nothing on the site.  In fact, I called it out last season.

Likely the big players are defending a zone or a space as planned in training, leaving others to pick up oppo players. I may be wrong, though.

Big difference in "stalking" and "calling out bollocks"
I thought he was a promising signing last season, then he got injured. This season I called it early how I see it. He's a good winger with no end product. Scored and made goals in the Championship and has done fuck all by way of end product in the Premier League. Ergo a Championship level player in my opinion.

See, opinion. Isn't that what internet forums are supposed to be all about. Get whenever I state an opinion on here weirdo obsessive stalkers on here just choose to dig me out. You're the childish one, pal.

"Summerville makes a huge difference to us, is our main ball carrier and stretches defences as theres two flanks now for them to worry about"

I said at the start of last season and nothing has changed, he's too lightweight and no end product. He could and should have scored yesterday. He has 1 assist and no goals this season.
I called this out early about Summerville this season too. He flatters to deceive and the Championship is his level.

Not been much discussion about Kilman yesterday.  I thought he was our worst player on the day. Diouf did better defensively this time out as he was able to defend higher up the pitch with the 3 CBs across the back system but Kilman I noticed a couple of times not attackkng balls into the box ( one he looked like he purposely ducked under and led to a scrambled clearance by Areola and others )  and not forgetting his attempt at an own goal which Areola did well to tip onto the bar.  He did some good things too but now seems to have taken on Mavros old habit of a rickett or two a game. Concentration seems to be his big issue although perhaps bravery too sometimes and willingness to attack the ball and risk gettimg hurt. Just an observation / opinion.

I'm no great fan of the style of football, and I do wish we would go for games a bit more, but I'm also aware that the manager has been at the club for 10 games, he's got 1 striker that can contribute who happens to be 33, 2 wingers, 1 of who is the only player in the squad with real pace but is injury prone, and 3 centre backs who before he turned up, didn't look like they were good enough to play for Canning Town vets.

He is working with the most poorly put together squad in the league, who were not only losing under Potter, but getting absolutely slapped at times, and were on course to battle it out with Wolves for rock bottom, a Wolves team who caved us in if you rememberin the cup.

Give him a transfer window, let's hope at least 3 bodies come in, and get behind him. None of this is his fault for fuck sake, he's making the best of a fucking catastrophe of a squad he's been given.
Better than pathetic digs and snides for cheap points.

All of our options are shit, but its better to bring on a shit winger or striker up front than have to bring on a 7th or 8th choice CM there. It's that simple.

He is working with a tough squad, but when he played Irving (twice), played inverted wing backs, fills the bench with players that won't be used, names a baffling line up every three games....... well he makes a hard job even harder.......and its not Potter or the players or the owners fault...... its all on him, he is in charge and he has had some right howlers when it comes to making decisions and big calls. Let alone the points he has thrown away already.

He has made us  look better at times, but we have also stunk the place out under him.  We need some more bides in Jan then hopefully we can turn more decent performances into wins.
Pathetic digs and cheap points? Grow a pair Rossal ffs

I'm gonna give him a bit of time, I can see what a car crash he's walked into, I haven't forgot the 9 set piece corners we let in before he arrived, or just how bad we were. I'm prepared to let slide some odd decisions for now and wait till he's given some reinforcement before getting stuck in. You've made your mind up, your crack on son.

Seconded. He’s got one arm tied behind his back with what’s available to him. TBH deserves a medal for making Todibo look like a football player.
We paid £35 million for him Man U and Juventus wanted him, I think it was more a case of joining a team in a new league for two shit shows of aanagee... Besides knew he must be good when COYI called it that he was a shit player.
But the point is he looked fucking hopeless under both managers every single game and pretty quickly Nuno has him looking good, along with other players as well. Completely turned round out suceptibility to corners/set pieces and crosses. In fact I have to laugh when it's brought up without fail every time I see us on TV and the oppo gets a corner. They need to highlight we've conceded only ONE since Nuno took over. Instead it's the same old 'we're bad at it as we conceded X amount' when we really are not, any longer.
