World Cup Tickets
Anyone else been looking at this?
First nightmare, ticket prices are 1000s of US dollars!!! They have a resale option for unwanted tickets from the early sale. I looked at one game and prices were from 1800 to 11500 US dollars!! I heard said they were expensive, but that made me think a 100, maybe 200, but 1000s! It's a piss take.
Second nightmare, group matches will be played across different cities in different countries and you will probably have to travel over a 1000 miles between venues for different group games!
It is just bare faced robbery. With no thought of the fans.
It is so sad what these money grabbing cunts are doing to every part of our game.
I really wanted to go, but cannot see it at the moment. I'll see what happens after the draw on the 5th Dec. Maybe it's a bit better through the football association...

A lot of England fans were cancelling their applications in the last few days so they could reapply for different ticket bands/more tickets, so things like that will make up some of that 17,000. I'd love to think they were genuine cancellations but I'd be surprised.
That's just under 10 times what my ticket cost for the '94 final which was 19 rows back on the edge the penalty box where they held the shootout.

I think the round of 32 is also going to be a bit naff. Might be a couple of interesting games, if that.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar (Camel racing) USA (A long winded and contrived rugby variant), Canada (Ice Hockey), South Africa (I think the main sport is gum boot dancing or rugby). South Korea (taeekwando and dog hunting). and Japan (Sumo wrestling). Having the matches spread over several countries enables all the people on the panel that makes these decisions to accept multiple bribes from different countries.

Don't watch it or even take an interest in it It is over long and becomes very boring, and too many shit nations are getting in through the back door. It is just a mafia organisation for corrupt officials.
You don't see any value in promoting the sport across the world?
Re: World Cup Tickets
Not interested till the ko stages
48 teams and 8 of 12 3rd place teams qualify for ko stage!!!
You have to be super crap not to progress and jocks have a chance for first time
Might go on golf holiday while group games on as going to extra boring!

It’s because the media can’t get to grips with a black footballing superstar.
Nothing to do with the fact that he is overhyped and behaves like a petulant child.Like Pele, Ronaldinho, Mbappe, Henry...![]()

Oh dear. That may be true, but they call football soccer. No country that calls football soccer, should be anywhere near a world cup. This includes U.S. A. Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The only countries that should be given World Cups are those who regularly qualify for the finalsOn The Ball25 Dec 2025, 21:42Football is the most popular sport in South Africa and South Korea.

Re: World Cup Tickets
I ended up entering the draw. I will not go to the USA. Scotland have a 50:50 chance of playing in Mexico in the last 32 and a 25% chance of playing in Mexico in the last 16. It will cost me 500+ USD in Feb. if I win the draw. Then my understanding is in the world cup I get my money back if we don't get that far or I don't want to go. It's a con, but I did it.

Re: World Cup Tickets
I have only seen one world cup game and that was Trinidad v Dominican Republic. It took place in a provincial athletic stadium to the north of San Fernando, and couldn't have been more than about 4 to 5,000 in attendance. The National anthems were played by a steel band, nothing wrong with that, but when they played all through the match it didn't feel quite right to me. The crowd didn't seem to know what was going on, and didn't sound like a football crowd at all, and only gave a high pitched cheer when the Trinidad goals went in. In fact the crowd were more interested in creating Mexican waves, and I think I was the only one there who didn't participate in it. To be fair most Trinidadians are more into cricket. Most don't know the difference between a free kick and the corner flag, which is really galling when you think that that cսnt Jack Warner could influence where the finals were to be played. I wrote him an email once and told him I was opening a business in Trinidad and wondered if he could loan me a few hundred thousand roubles. I told him I would accept it in a brown envelope. He never replied.

It is probably just me getting old and jaded with things in general but it is difficult to care with FIFA's blatant corruption.
Awarding the world cup to Saudi without any other bid was the final straw and this is before you get to the laughable peace prize.

Re: World Cup Tickets
The awards for 2026 & 2030 was obviously a move to get to Saudi in 2034 so soon after Qatar
When I say 2034 I mean 2035 as FIFA snuck out recently that the tournament will actually be in January 2035 to avoid Ramadan

Re: World Cup Tickets
I think you can justify £100 a ticket for group games, £150 for knockout games & £200 to £250 for the final
These tickets at a minimum of £3000+ are just a joke
Anyone who pays that are out of their mind and the cost of a trip to follow a country through every game plus inflated flights & accommodation is mind bending
Will be watching at home obviously
Looking forward to USA v Australia. The Australian coach said he was happy with the draw (as anyone would be getting those Pot 1 frauds USA or Canada) so Landon Donovan said he was ‘smug’ & they’ll be sending Australia home on their Qantas plane
Americans being arrogant cunts? Quel supris

Septics love a bit of instant "I was there!!!" history to boast about over their super-sized meals and fizzy pop.
Their media need to back that dream, too, so they'll find a way of filling the stadiums, one way or another.
Could be a lot of concessions and local radio competition prize-winners attending.

bit of a bummer that mate, but hey... you can go watch it with your mates down the pub and, not worry about being deported by ICE after they discovered your post on WHO... think of the money you've saved (if you had the dosh like).
