"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

13 losing  season turnaround to a 13 (as it stands)..winning season is impressive.
Maye is on fire , he lives on the edge and gets sacked a lot, but he is great to watch and only going to get better...next season up against a harder roster will be his test.
9/1 for the Pats is fantastic value, but I think theyll come up short this season.
That  King  Henry for the Ravens is some RB , that's what the Pats lack, real top draw to go all the way to  win the SB.

Back on track for No 1 seed.
Broncos have the chargers to come,  Chiefs too, I think they'll do them without Mahomes .
Pats have jets and dolphins , vital games to clinch the division as well as No 1 seed .
Jets away worries me
The Jets always worry me. And I follow the Jets.
😂.
I was surprised at how poor the Jets were , usually up for the Pats.
Jets seem to be the WHU of the NFL...
I watched the Brett Favre documentary last night , I didn't realise he played at the Jets...was he any good ( for Jets)..?..
Happy new year to you and yours btw Southbank and Mike.
Both very knowledgeable fellas

The four falls. Great doc.

gotta laugh how the Giants every year do all the hard work to be soul destroying Fuckjng terrible but getting into  a great draft position before a meaningless win or two in December drops us down from a prime, prime pick to fifth or similar. Cant even be good at being shit. All things considered we shouldn’t pick lower than second but I wouldn’t be in the slightest bit shocked if we win again this weekend to drop to 5 or 6.

Yep. The G MEN. Washington.( Not allowed to name them.) And the Cowgirls twice. All were a bit special. And everyone feels they should have sealed the deal with at least one of them. (They lost against the Giants with a missed field goal.) There's been a few teams since who have won the Super Bowl who wouldn't be able to hold a candle next to that Buffalo team.

Didn't the Bills lose four straight Super Bowls?

Almost as bad as the Vikings, lost four sbs but not four straight.

Yep - agree with this. They’re a strong team in all departments. See how quickly Vrabel has sorted them out?
I'm sure I said the jets people should have made an offer too good to refuse, maybe he would have waited for the pats opportunity anyway? It's amazing watching a bit of that later game yesterday with the Bills, and thinking back to how they've now had two very good QBs but can't get it done. Difference being, at least big Jim got them to the dance a few times. Josh can't even make the last step

Another absolute caning at the hands of the Patsies - with more than 40 points conceded.

The Jets have now conceded more points in December than any other NFL team in history. Glenn insists he’s not tanking because he has the draft capital not to. Which means he’s just a poor HC who sold the family silverware.

Incredibly, we’re in worse shape now than 12 months ago. Nothing has got better. Offense, defense, special teams - all worse. Nobody knows what they’re doing.

No more rookie HCs. With the exception of Rex, the Jets have only ever thrived under experienced coaches: Ewbank, Parcells etc. Even Rex cut his teeth calling plays as DC in Baltimore.

Get Mike McCarthy, and let him pick his (experienced) co-ordinators. He will have his flaws, of course. But his NFL record is good, he knows what the structure of an NFL team should look like, and he knows how to draft.

Seen enough.

The Jets need to ditch Aaron Glenn. He isn’t ready to be a head coach. Like Saleh wasn’t.

Its going to take a grizzled old cսnt, who knows his way around the NFL, to fix the Jets. I like Glenn as a person, but he’s way out of his depth.

We probably need somebody like Mike McCarthy, who can also bring with him some experienced co-ordinators. I’m done with rookie HCs.

If I were the Giants, I’d at least have a bit of a think about taking Mendoza with the top pick.

If you think that Dart is your man, then, sure, sell the pick. But there are some who think Mendoza is a generational talent and you might want to trade Dart.

FWIW, I have no idea if Mendoza is generational or just a very good college QB at this point. Hard to judge. His mechanics, reads and poise are excellent - you can certainly see that. Touch of the Joe Burrow about him.

The Jets no doubt have the spending power to take the #1 pick should they wish. But they have to consider the price, especially if Dante Moore also declares for the draft. They could land Moore for half the Mendoza “money” - and then take a prime WR to go with him and Garrett.
