Cup of Tea - feel for you mate. yep same here, late 50s & never had a filling still. Both top Wisdom's out without any issues at all few years back although I believe top teeth are easier to deal with than bottom.. Last year some intermittent pain in lower double molar and they said it had a crack in it but wouldn't do anything. Isn't there a dental version of Polyfilla?! Then it cracked to the root in June, must have been crunching all those mint imperials! Felt like every nerve in my face was in spasm, absolute agony but it came in waves rather than constant. They couldn't root canal so I just said get it out. 50 minutes it took and two dentists which was fine whilst the numbing juice was working but after, jeez never had pain like it. Was bit worried about the gap in case had to constantly chew on one side putting too much work on that side but since the gum healed it's not been too bad just got to be careful on those mint imperials. Main problem going through all that bar the obvious is that I'm now addicted to caramel ice cream!

My god I had it packed three times by various dentists and prescribed codeine hardly touched the sides. Sticking with the gap rather than an implant, don't want to go through that again. On that joyfull note happy new year to all,  I'm off for a packet of crisps and The Poseidon Adventure. 1973s version of course!
I feel ya. Not so much as a filling up to mid 40s now problem after problem. 2 possibly 3 needing to come out, totally destroyed teeth including 1 with a fractured amalgam crown. Extractions and recovery as well as partial dentures due to them being chewing teeth (molars I think)

Personally I'd have the lot out and have dentures but dentist won't touch healthy teeth.... too much money to make off of them I guess.

Dental Pain?

May I recommend Oil of Cloves? A few drops on the sore tooth and it filters down to the root in a minute or two. AND no need to avoid alcohol as it's 100% natural.
Hate that stuff! Been using orajel. Got to have two teeth out new year. Currently on a mix of cocodamol and cuprofen.
Feel for you. I had 5 root canals done before my crown was fitted. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Not a fan of NYE as it's usually cunts night

Festive revellers blowing those streamer things,  throwing party poppers and ordering Guinness last at the bar after they have queued in single file.

At midnight they would of had enough and be throwing up in the khazi hugging strangers and starting fights.

These once a year merchants should be made to undergo some form of formal pisshead etiquette training before they are let loose in December as they are a menace.

Having said that I'm heading out for a couple of early ones to numb the pain of our current predicament and being thrown over for a rich fat bloke with a lisp.

Have a good one and here's to a healthy and successful 2026.
