Just know it's one of those, like Black Panther, that is overhyped because it was made by and stars black people. It had an air of menace about it early doors where you thought there might be some extreme violence but it didn't happen, then in a heartbeat it just went all silly with the vampires or whatever they're called.
Never gave Black Panther the time of day, could clearly see it was going to be utter tripe.
Re-watched Play misty for me, a bit dated now but still good.
Great film, was on when I got home from my eldest daughter being born, which is how she got her name Misty.

Watched "Nuremburg" on Sky last night. Thought it was a good enough film, with good performances by Russell Crowe and Leo Woodall. Not sure what to make of Rami Malek, he seems to play the same character in whatever film he is in. Not sure how historically accurate it is but it's woth a watch.

Knives out was decent.
One for Northern Sold ..The Tiger (The Tank). Really excellent drama/horror about a Tiger tank crew in 1943 with a secret mission behind enemy lines. Has a Das Boot feel to it. I highly recommend it.
New Predator was OK.

Knives Out,- new one (Can't remember the actual name) Enjoyable enough, , don't expect to use logic to solve this whodunnit though, because its as silly and convoluted as it gets, bit too long tooIt's "Wake Up Dead Man". Went to see it at the cinema about three weeks ago totally oblivious it was coming to platform two weeks later!Found it decent enough, better than the second one, but not as good as the first. Watched it at the Lounge, Picture House in Uckfield. Never known confort like it, leather recliners and a waitress service to your seat and fabulous picture and sound clarity. Fabulous place.
Ah Yes thank, yeah I did enjoy it, if only for Daniel Craig absolutely leaning into that accent now! He's obviously having a great time.

Films these days tend to bore the shit out of me.
Me too mainly but dig underneath all the main cinema releases and there's still gold being made every year, especially outside of Hollywood

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)
Watched 3 new ones over christmas
House Of dynamite: well worth a watch IMO, enjoyed it and a great reminder how we're all potentially minutes away from disaster. Don't watch if you like your movies wrapped up in a nice little bow though
Weapons: Fantastic, one of best "Sci/Fi/Horror/Thriller I've seen in a long while (purposely leaving the genre vague as its half the fun not knowing)

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)
Just looked at what other films were nominated that year and it was some year with "As Good as it Gets", "The Full Monty" and "Good Will Hunting" as well as "Titanic". Shows how different it was quality wise back then. Surprised to see no-one from LA Confidential got an acting nomination, as they are all superb. Crowe probably got "Gladiator" on the back of this although I think I read somewhere that he passed on playing Wolverine in X-Men.

Stumbled across LA Confidential on Prime last night as had never watched it, Don't ask me why as I am a fan of Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce has done some decent stuff, before his blackballing Spacey was a superb actor and Kim Basinger used to be a favourite. Maybe as a younger man a Film Noir type didn't appeal and the DVD case never quite grabbed me. So watched it nearly 30 years later and boy did I miss out! Wasn't sure first 45 minutes or so but it certainly came to life. Great film, never judge a film by it's DVD cover!!
Was literally drowned out by all the BS noise that was Titanic. (Fun fact.) James Ellroy wanted Michael Madsen as the Bud White character. But Warner Bro would only green light the movie if Crowe and Pearce were casted. It’s a cracking film.

Fackham Hall.
A pisstake of Downton Abbey which is a bit like a Carry On and filled with Naked Gun/Airplane type jokes.
It's not bad.
Some old dear sat near us obviously expected a genuine Downton Abbey type film - 'worst film I have ever seen'.

Watched Year 10. Just doesn't make any sense.
In the middle of no where surviving in a small area they live, yet some how have never come across the bad guys living nearby, the young lad living nearby, two abandoned vehicles nearby, the house that was nearby, the tent that was nearby and abandoned for years What the fuck did they do for 10 years, just hang around in their gaff starving and never move more than half a mile.

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)
Decided to buy the new Naked Gun DVD at CEX as it was going cheap. Big, big fan, certainly of the original where I had to see it twice in the cinema because I laughed so much I missed too much. Second and third were still very funny in places but not a match on the first. So to be fair wasn't expecting much. Neeson and Anderson are very good to be fair in playing it straight and it kind of works for the first half an hour or so with some decent belly laughs but it falters out fairly quickly in the second half. You just can't match the facial expressions or bumbling innocence of Leslie Nielsen and it doesn't do what Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker did so well. I know he was only a producer but I've never found anything Seth MacFarlane has been involved in particularly funny. I'd say B for effort and C- for achievement.
