"Hey, Liam, dude! Can you say "Yes"?",
"Yes".
"Job's yours. Six and a half years OK?"
"Yes".
"See, you've already proved yourself the type of man we want! "

Re: Enzo Maresca expected to leave Chelsea today
six and a half years, what is that all about?
Let's face facts he is only the front of house, there is a team behind him that does all the work.

Re: Enzo Maresca expected to leave Chelsea today
Chelsea are a fucking basket case. 6.5 year deal for a coach that has been at Hull City in Championship and then Strasbourg. Although done well with Strasbourg (guiding them to 7th last season and Conf league), they are currently 8th in Ligue 1.
Yes, last season he fielded the youngest average age team in Ligue 1. And Chelsea are currently in their young player experiment. But 6.5 year deal!?! Wow.

Good luck to him
i.was hoping he might be the young manager who gets us back.up, and bit of a west ham connection there, but obviously there are better opportunities available for him.

Good for Liam. It seems out of leftfield. Can't help but feel this could be too big of a jump from Strasbourg but while I don't want to say 'good luck' to him but it's nice to see a young(ish) English manager getting a chance.

Liam Rosenior appointed on 6 1/2 year deal
On for a MASSIVE payout when sacked if his agent has done his job re compensation

Re: Enzo Maresca expected to leave Chelsea today
Has there ever been so many poisoned chalice management vacancies in the PL at any one time before? All it needs is that fraud at Liverpool to be shown the door and the management merry-go-round can truly start.

Palmer scored a lot of goals for them last season. He was top scorer for them.
and just for perspective. They have the most expensive squad ever assembled. Something like 1.4bn quid. They are 15 points off the top in 5th place. Caicedo alone was over 100m

Heard the same bollocks about Payet. More to management in the Premier League than to reduce it to 1 player. It's obviously a benefit to have such quality players but there's more to games than just relying on them with so many factors to think about and manage. Potter at the same Club with an embarrassment of riches proved that and look where they finished under him in 11th. He did excellently at both Clubs in back to back seasons, regardless of who he had available, just as Leicester now continue to struggle back down in the Championship with better players/resources currently 12th.
As I said, he’s clearly a good manager. Would City be meeting with bad managers?
But I think Porch did wonders sorting out that mishmash of a squad from Potter and Maresca took over that version of Chelsea. Palmer has been so good that you have to think Guardialo’;s divorce fucked his brain. I dont think that has anything to do with Maresca. He has been fortunate to get those things.
Funny what you say about Payet. It’s like saying Barcelona was a 1 man team with Messi. No, but without Messi they dont have the edge that no other teams have. It’s the same with Payet and to a lesser extent Palmer. At this level there are a handful of magical players that are difference makers. Thats undeniable.

Re: Enzo Maresca expected to leave Chelsea today
He’s a really good coach and already a good manager. Maresca will have a good managerial career.
It’s a shame he wasn’t available a few months back.
This is a mistake by Chelsea’s impatient owners. But we’ve seen that before.

Re: Enzo Maresca expected to leave Chelsea today
If the medical staff tell you a player is concussed or has a certain grade of thigh injury the manager has to listen to them
If they say the player is a risk in the ‘Red zone’ of minutes played the manager should take that on board as advice but it’s his call.
