Swiss ski resort fire
Inside a building, people wandering around with ‘champagne sparklers’ ie naked flames sticking out of champagne bottles
Some sitting on people’s shoulders set fire to the ceiling
Utter stupidity
The people involved should be identified & presuming they aren’t a charred mess be charged with mass murder

Re: Swiss ski resort fire
Video is said to exist showing Jessica Moretti escaping from the New Year fire with the cash register under her arm, while ignoring victims.
Savage! As long as the fucking Tills alright, that's the main thing..

I used to ski(MCL injury stopped that) including Switzerland and found the nightlife bit sedate there, but appears on this occasion the fact it was NY Eve and basement bar full of pissed up kids who clearly didn't recognise the danger instead decided to film or carry in dancing

Not suggesting but clearly obvious...you think its ok for kids to be pissed up at 1.30am when the fire started???
No proof???This coming from someone who posted clearly false information about the sickening Southport murderer
What is it with you and kids dying you have to stear away from facts???

Re: Swiss ski resort fire
I cant believe the stupidity of those filming the fire, why must this generation film every fucking thing, if they'd have moved quicker they possibly may have got out easier.
But yes I agree im quite astounded with the foreign versions of "health and safety" when I go abroad. We can be over zealous here, but they dont give it a passing thought in a lot of the world

They are a few still there as tourist buses

Whilst not a crime, idiots filming the fire on their mobiles and not getting out of a death trap as soon as possible, is crass stupidity. As dumb as people collecting their hand luggage before an emergency evacuation of an airliner.

wils wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 13:29 I was in that part of the world just before Christmas. I am no fan of our health and safety culture stifling personal risk taking, but at the same time I did notice in several places around Switzerland and southern Germany that they do things that we wouldn't allow here.
So when you see things like this and you realise they are less likely to happen in England, it does make you see the 'elf and safety culture in a different light. A lot of families have lost their kids in this for no reason other than people thinking the rules aren't for them. Mostly teenagers killed.
There is nothing wrong with UK health and safety laws if they are applied in a pragmatic manner. In many cases, they are used simply for arse covering.

Yes, they were and managed to escape unscathed. I was speaking with a MATE who goes skiing in Italy, and he said the bars are packed solid.

I'd say stuffing the ceiling with flamable insulation while only providing one set of stairs out of there was a much bigger issue.

Re: Swiss ski resort fire
The owners are French and are being questioned by the police. It takes a disaster for things to change, safety-wise, the King's Cross fire and Hillsborough being examples

Re: Swiss ski resort fire
I imagine that they assumed the club would not have flammable insulation all over the ceiling.
This is remeniscent of a lot of club fire disasters including the burning down of Montreux Casino during a Mothers of Invention gig in the 70s.

Frase
You seem very sensitive about your ground down teeth
And your middle aged (I’m being generous) love of repetitive music only bearable if you are out of your scone
