Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Personally I think we should have bought 2 no nonsense, head it and kick it CB's. Our problem hasn't been scoring its been holding on to leads. Of course an extra forward after that would be welcome.

On the face of it, seems like a crazy signing, the usual short sighted, doesn't fit requirements we need buy.
However, at this point, who gives a fuck.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Let's just hope this Castellanos fella and that Pablo Felipe fella have something about them.
It's a massive risk to lay out so much dough (for us) on two Latin forwards who have never played in the Premier League before.

I'd rather put the cash towards two or three champ players in the summer.
Penny wise. Pound stupid. Doesn’t much sound like a Sully Special Signing.!

I want to thank everyone for this time together and for all the affection I received. Now I move on to another challenge in my career, taking with me everything I lived here and with the certainty that good things are ahead. Grateful for everything. Once a Hammer

Add to the fact that neither could get a gig in the PL this season after leaving speaks volumes about the quality or absolute lack of, of both Kilman and Mav. We’d have been no worse of turning out two ‘over the hill’ full backs deemed not good enough to be at the club. The comment was about the character of the players, as in senior and experienced.
I know but it also sadly applies in terms of talent vs our current special needs class of centre backs as well.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
There are numerous senior players at the club but they've all fallen by the wayside in recent months.
The keeper and the centre backs aren't kids. JWP, Soucek, Rodriguez are seniors. So are Fulkrug, Wilson, Paqueta and Bowen.
Quite why they aren't bringing an influence to bear is anyone's guess.
Falling out with whoever is the manager this week seems to be one reason, being shunted out of the team is another.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Normally, I dont care going down, but this time I do. We have the bones of a very good young side. Some of those younger players have international careers to think about, so playing in the second division (Championship) wont be for them. Sullivan has no sentiment for the club, just his wallet

stubbo-admin wrote: ↑04 Jan 2026, 13:17 According to Ex, Taty is still coming...as far as the source knows.
Bloke clearly has a very advantageous contract, or some kind of masochistic tendency.
But as others have said....without having a player or players to lead the team on the field and frankly to properly influence the referee, and a central defender to actually organise the defence, there can be little hope of improvement.
For this reason I can't see a 23 year old Charlie Cresswell being the solution. At 23 unless he's some personality, feels unlikely he's going to come in and start calling the shots in a league which is a step up for him.
What a clustrlerfuck this squad has been allowed to become. Potter getting rid of anyone who remotely.had a backbone also looking appalling.
He did, indeed, Coufal, Cresswell, Emerson, and Alverez on loan

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
If Traore is off we should look at a similar player
What is Usain Bolt up to these days?
Personally I’d be looking at players to use in the Championship
Cresswell as a young English centre half would be one
Some players … Bowen, Paqueta, AWB will be off but I’d be looking to build the team around young players who should be told they are staying … Fernandes Magassa Potts Earthy Diouf Kante Scarles Casey Marshall Pablo
We might have to pay someone to take Kilman
