I love it now, but, back in the day the Vidiprinter used to infuriate me with it's stop....start activity.

It always seemed to start printing out a score (from the game that held your interest), print the home team, their score, the away team and then stop for an absolute age before churning out the away score and the following results/scores at warp speed meaning, if you looked away for a nano-second at the wrong time you'd miss the score you were so desperate to see.

It was part of the history of the media reporting football news  rather than trying to make it.

Back in the day (40 years ago) I used to write computer booking systems for travel agents. Ceefax and Viewdata were big favourites.

Bit too tech for me

I remember occasions when it was not possible to know how west ham had got on until the next day, or coming home from a night out and getting the early sunday paper at liverpool st.
