I am coming to the conclusion we keep sacking managers to then get a worse one in!
Not sure what should be done about the manager. I am not big on changing managers.
Also, not to say I wanted Moyes to stay. I was tired of Moyes and supported that change.
Tired of this as well.

My heart sank when he tried that reversed full back shit against Brentford and Leeds. I thought to myself how can a manager who is regarded as capable think that was going to work in any way, shape or form.

If he had set the team up like he did against Burnley and Newcastle we might've got 4 points from those 2 games.

Why did he need to give away 2 matches to realise that? A massive red flag. Also, if he needs all of his previous backroom staff at Forest to point out the stark, staring fucking obvious then he can't be too bright eh?

What the fuck is he playing at? Our squad is shit but keep things simple FFS. There is no innovation to be had where the ingenuity or quality doesn't exist in the first place.

Every stupid motherfucker and no-mark trying to copy Pep these days.

Fuck Off

Just remembered something about the Forest game that stuck in my mind during the 1st half that was noticing how Dyche instructed his players to flood our box when attacking. It was so noticeabe to me. A number of times I counted at least 5 Forest players inside the box awaiting service as the Away Team and it kept happening throughout the game. Seeing the eventual 11 shots/5 on target/2 goal win as the Away Team struggling for a result themselves didn't come as any surprise when given the clear instruction to attack as much as possible.

In Nuno's slight defence in that game we did attack as well but not in the same intensity of flooding bodies in to the box and certainly not for the majority of the 16 games in charge overall when it mattered more. We should have crushed Forest in to submission almost by pinning their players in to their half if only we were as positive minded but we just don't play like that under Nuno.

Massive.
Agreed
Pundits, utubers and fans suggest that Nuno has made some players better.
I don't agree,

AWB has become half the player he was last season.
Diuof 2 assits under Potter nothing under Nuno
Kilman , his own man, has got a lot,lot worse.
Mavro got worse, only looks an average player next to Todibo
Todibo - well he was a good player anyway but for awhile he looked worse under Nuno, has improved.
Paqueta - looks bang average, has more yellow and red cards than assists or goals., much worse.
Summerville - looked good under Potter then was injured, got worse
Bowen, no where near the player,he has been, missing out on the WC at this rate

A team devoid of any leaders, fighters or scrappers, 7 points from safety, all while teams around us are showing the grit and metal to survive, that we embarrassingly lack, and the rancid midget pimp puts his faith in yet another defeatist coward of a manager with a truly abysmal record since joining us.

The writing truly is on the wall

Moyes was just as bad if not worse. And Potter while not quite as defensive in terms of territory was equally shit going forward. This problem is larger than just Nuno but he's absolutely carried on with it.

It's not even that. It was like that under Moyes, Lop and Potter as well. Four managers and virtually a whole different set of players. The same problems I saw under Moyes have not changed.

After all Summerville was named Leeds Players’ Player of the Season for the 2023/24 with 18 goals and nine assists across all competitions from 43 matches played.  Is the gulf really that big from the Championship to the PL or is it that West Ham curse when good players turn to shit?

So here's the thing I was alluding to before about extracting more out of his sorry Team as it currently stands. Now I'm not sure if he's more Championship than Premier League but 3 seasons ago when he was raw new on the scene in a worse Leeds side he managed to score 4 goals as well as 3 assists. He currently has 0 goals to his name. So that's where I'm looking directly back at the sad sack in charge to say what are you playing at not getting more out of him when we know there's more to offer?

And there's plenty more examples of that throughout the Squad. The Squad overall isn't good but in the same breathe it can also do a lot more too if managed in a positive way that gets the best out of them playing to their strengths.

So we are dogshit as Defending, so don't ask them to defend even more to compensate. Ask the opposite of them to get up the pitch causing havoc then we might be surprised to find it helps relieve the pressure on a long suffering defence that's crying out for a break from endless wave of attacks. Best form of defence for me has always been to attack. That is if we ever had a Manager that believed in that shit too..

He needs to add more goals to his game for sure, but alot of good things going forward usually involve him. If we had a striker last year and this year his assist stats would surely be higher. It's hard for a player like him, he beats a man beats another then wants to slot it through to a striker on the run. We haven't had that striker for years.

Its also hard when Nuno seems to sub him off before 60 mins alot of the time.

I like him, I think he is a threat on the left and the best is yet to come. If we were to replace him it would be with someone with the exact same attributes......pace, dribbling and can take someone on. Worth sticking with for me, we need to add some competition for that side but I wouldnt replace him.

I agree, a player like that needs a striker beside him.  He is a whippet, but probably has a problem when he suddenly finds himself near the oppositions area only to see that some of the lumbering forwards we have are 20 yards behind him.

Possibly, Stubbo. You might be right.

I hope he improves. But right now he looks like another waste of money.

Come on, it stands to reason that if you're a left winger like Summerville - you WILL get a lot more change (and goals) out of the right-backs for Rotherham, Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday than you will out of even the likes of us, Everton and Brentford. Let alone the world-class right backs at Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City etc.

He had a great season for Leeds in 2023/24. But think about the players he faced almost every week - and think about who he's up against now.

The frustrating thing with Summerville is that he is taking an age to make the step up consistently. He clearly has the potential. But that's probably down to bad coaching, tactics etc.

Interesting especially when you hear some people say you get more space and time in the PL because they just close you down and kick you in the Championship.  Maybe that's changed in recent years as the powers that be have changed rules to move towards a non contact sport!  I think Summerville could be a very good player, with the right coaching.  If he improved his finishing, last ball and decision making he would be decent.  That's called coaching.

That's not to say that he can't, btw. But he - like many others in our squad - needs to add more quality and consistency to his game.

On the Summerville point the answer is simple: yes, it's a big - often huge - gulf between playing in the Championship and playing against the best of the Premier League.

There's a huge difference between tearing the full-backs from Rotherham, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth to shreds every week...and then going up against the top 15 sides in the Premier League, with their international full-backs.

The Championship is a decent level league, and we'll have a battle on our hands to get out of it next season - because we'll lose our best players. But it's not a patch on the Premier League, as so many sides and players have shown. So far, Summerville has not made the leap.

Rossal as relieved as anyone to him not playing but to be totally frozen out quite ridiculous especially when Irving and Rodriguez played. Now Irving is frozen out. Rodriguez stays. Soucek not playing then thrown in and he looked shot after 75 minutes.Still he played on. Expect Irving to start against QPR,probably the same for Igor. None of what this clown does makes sense. The lack of subs is quite extraordinary. The only times he uses them is ultra defensive moves. nothing attacking that's why he won't change. I still see the look on Wilson's face when he got subbed against Bournemouth, astonishment like all of us.
Just get rid of this Crackhead Clown now

Year after year you see teams that do not have household names and do not have players with status doing very well in the PL. Generally you will note that these clubs have a number of fundamental things:

1) A very good coach
2) A dynamic recruitment system
3) A playing style and ethos (from youth to senior)
4) A modern and current management structure
5) A good relationship between coach and management team

Its not rocket science. The coach is selected based on his coaching ability which shows the style and hits the data the management team want. The coach is interviewed and demonstrates that he understands and buys into the playing style and ethos. The recruitment system is designed around the playing style and ethos and so players are brought in that demonstrate that they play to that style by hitting the data. Recruitment, coaching and results are openly discussed and reviewed by coach and management team and adaptions are made to suit.

Point is, its a whole system from 1 to 5. No fractures. No separation. No individualism. Full disclosure and transparency from top to bottom. All singing from the same song book and all rowing in the same direction.

Look at Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham, Sunderland, Brighton, even Palace to an extent. Clubs that have adapted to the modern football landscape. Clubs that have developed modern philosophies by employing young and dynamic management teams who use data and modern financial methods to navigate lower budgets, lower gates and FFP to maintain solid PL status, financial stability and also play a positive and progressive style of football.

West Ham under Sullivan are:

1) Poor / Average coaches
2) No recruitment system
3) No playing style / ethos
4) An aging and out of touch management system
5) Poor relationships between coach and management team

We are a plane that has been losing fuel for miles and miles. And now we are too far out to sea to glide it to land. It was always going to crash.
