I've barely got the energy to write this but it's the Cup...we'll inevitably not try very hard, but it's a somewhat welcome distraction.

They have a striker we were interested in...Richard Kone...who no doubt will upstage the 50m we have just spent.

Predicted Lineup:
T-Rex

Rodriguez  Magassa

Bowen   Taty    Sumerville

Pablo
Subs:  Areola, Scarles, Mavropanos, Potts, Irving, Paqueta, Soucek, Ajala, Landers.

A win is a bird and all that.

Fancy Norwich away in the next round for some reason.

Made hard work of it but the right result
We are too slow in the build up and passing is poor
Good tactic by QPR to let Kilman have the ball so they could get back in position while he dawdles before passing it sideways
Need to get the ball quicker into midfield
Potts & Magassa tried to add some forward movement & urgency but the prior ball movement is glacial
Good for Taty to score and it’s early days but he and Pablo don’t look like game changers at EPL level

On to the 4th Round
Macclesfield at home ?

Loved it, really enjoyed the game. Good opposition.
Summerville was excellent, really found his level. Hope he can bring it to the Premier.
I think we can build from this.
Spurs up next, and they are looking as bad as us, fucking seriously want us to beat those cunts.

He’s 22.

He’s older than Fernandes, who is twice the player already.
Fair point, but he still lacks the first team experience that Fernandes has.  I think he will get better, but I'm certainly not saying he is the answer.

Well it wasn't a great performance but with confidence on the floor a wins a win and whislt I doubt it will propel us to winning 5 in a row it may help mentally.

Summerville excellent today, with some end product chaps, can understand the frustration with him sometimes but I like him, direct, quick feet, pace and he has a go going forward and backwards. With Alan Dev now apparently retired the club could do worse than get him in a couple of times a week to work with Summerville.  Dev knows that role and would be able to teach him so much on when to hold on to it and when to just go.  I can just see coaching him to just give and go, a quick one two and he would be in on goal so much with his pace.  You know Sully won't though, but is missing a trick, pretty sure Dev would be up for that.

Mayers looked pretty decent, a few inches taller he could probably slot in at centre back.  Really like Scarles, gets stuck in, again good coaching would get him to develop.  Don't get the hate for Freddie Potts.  I think he tries to do a lot of things well but doesn't execute them well enough at times but he is still a kid.  I think he has poise and positional sense, and there is a good pass in him, but again that's where good coaching comes in.

Todibo is getting better but would certainly benefit from having a real up and at em centre half next to him.  Bowen looks a little less sharp at the moment.  His move it and hit it isn't quite coming off right now but he never hides, is always running and again can't understand the criticism.  Problem is he has set such high standards, anything below that and people think he is on the wane.  Was shocked to see he was 29, was convinced he was 27!

Nice finish by Taty and I know it's early days but not sure it's 50 million well spent on him and Pablo, I guess time will tell, but time isn't something we have.

The win will keep Nuno in a job.  I still don't see the point of keeping him but it is what it is.  At least we are through and knowing our luck will be away at Liverpool in the next round!

Apart from the first half I think we done ok and looked in control for the most part.

The atmosphere in the ground seemed a little better too.

Potts wasn't great but got stuck in,got the ball back when he lost it. But his set pieces have detoriated.
He needs to put mor epace on themand not just loft them.He was miles better than Magassa who played as he did against Wolves. What has Nuno done to him, ever since he was dropped he's been awful.
Another one of the Crackhead Genius man management.
Myers was good put in a few good crosses I would just like to see him in at center back to really judge him.
AWB quite poor doesn't look that interested.Pablo not looking good or fit.
Soucek bang average lost the ball and oh so slow even with his 5 yard passes.
It's a win but despite of Crackhead.
QPR were awful really.

As others say, we looked noticeably better than a mid championship side but unfortunately you can still see the frailities that make us a very poor PL side.   Pace, agility, strength and passing ability at speed in short supply.

As much as the central midfield looks better than earlier this season with Soucek, Guido and Irvine, its still an issue. Magassa and Potts too similar in their roles at tye base and a real absence of the aforementioned pace and power. Fernandes helps but a real force in there is needed with the ability to carry the ball. The gaping hole Rice left still needs to be plugged. And we know Kilman will always be vulnerable as a CB in the PL. Now Stavros injured again, the need for another CB is critical.

The 2 signings? Worked hard, good team men and Taty took his goal well but currently not looking PL quality but perhaps will make that level over time ( somethimg we dont have ).

But at least we won and I’ ll take that

I think guido is a nice tidy player, technically good. Like Irving, and Soler was. Can see out the end of games. Good players but not suited to english football.

i've seen much better west ham teams struggle against lower league clubs in the cups. We did good today. Thank god.

Clearly aren’t going to be turning spurs over with that kind of performance, but we did play a lot better in extra time, controlled the game and scored the best team goal I’ve seen us score for a long time. Hopefully Summerville and Taty will now have there tails up

Another excruciating watch, and, if not for Summerville, I'd have fallen alseep where I stood.
I'm staggered people still  pay to watch this relentless tripe.
