When you think about it there does tend to be some trade-off when taking on a Maverick type of player which we want to see at West Ham but at a price. It rarely works out well in the end, take Paqueta, Payet, even Di Canio it ended somewhat acrimoniously. It wouldn't put me off in future, just more of an acceptance that this kind of thing is likely when they throw their toys out the pram when they don't get their way. Seems to come with the off the cuff selfish mentality in their play just as much as it comes off it as well. 

Paqueta doesn't come close to Di Canio or Payet.

I don't think you like realising just how poor Paqueta has been for us overall for the cost and aggravation he's caused the Club, bar that 1 pass he wants to dine out on for the rest of his career.

I know its more than just goals, but 16 league goals in 4 seasons is fucking pathetic. And how many were pens. A lot of where we are now is down to not being able to shift him on to city for big money at the time. He should never have got himself into a position that raised suspicions, stupid bookings.

Can't lose him unless we get a replacement in. I'd just say to him stay until summer and then you can go anywhere you want regardless of what division we are in, provided they meet a reasonable asking price. I agree we can't rely on him.

I can't see Charlie Cresswell wanting to join us. We'll have to offer him a genuine plan to get straight back up if we do go down. Highly improbable.

Ake doesn't want to come, Pinnock is a good lad but we shouldn't expect too much but he's better than Kilman and Mavro - he gets stuck in at the very least.

The need for a CB just increased with Stavros getting injured. Another quality, strong, athletic ball carrying, goal scoring central midfielder also still needed. I mean we need more and what we need we wont get at least in terms of quality so another defeat at Spurs next week looks assured?

Some sound as defeating as Nuno manages at times.

We are 7 points behind, not 17. Back to back wins which isn't impossible if managed right can soon change the situation quickly.

I agree we ain't down in early January, a lot of football left still and traditionally we have always put up a fight (I think) when we have gone down in the past.

But of course we are really up against it and cannot be confident of survival at this point. You can't keep losing your must win games. What worries me is it only takes one more swing of us losing and Forest winning and it's 10 points, then I think you'd have to accept it.

 

 

Every previous occasion that we went down our home form was absolutely dismal until it was far too late in the day. Historically, our away form has rarely been very good so it is what it is.

Unless we pull something out of the Coventry or Southampton playbook from back in the day. It was incredible how often they were able to defy gravity when looking dead and buried.
