Earthy, Ghillurme, Fullkrug, Paqueta, Wilson and Marshall

Even by our standards that is impressive. We need goals to win games or don't anyone at the club realise that?

We just signed 2 younger / better / fitter strikers than them, and only Paqueta was playing regularly.
At least Nuno signed them and wants them, both are playing and contributing.
Taty looks ok, I think no Wilson, Earthy or Paqueta sat if they are all unavailable is spectacularly bad management on our part...... as usual

There is an alternative version of the Paqueta story. The club has been touting him out to other clubs including London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham, because they will get more money from them. Flamingo are only prepared to offer up to €40m. Paqueta is only interested in going back to Brazil and is prepared to wait until the summer. Paqueta hasn’t downed tools and is available to play.

I’m not saying which version is true, only that there are at least two sides to the story. This also doesn’t change the fact that he often loses the ball and pretends to be fouled, and doesn’t create or score much. However, he is still better than anyone else we have in this position.

I can't believe the club don't see it for the best that we sell him now, I reckon it's Nuno telling Sullivan he has to keep him. I hope we don't end up flogging him on deadline day.
Reports saying Flamengo will pay 40m euros and we want 60.

The 40m euros could get us 3/4 players. No world beaters of course but more experience for sure.
We just spent £20 million plus on a player that was bought £250k not that long ago.. A very odd transfer but he's with Mendes and apparently Nuno's mates son... Club is a joke and anyone expecting us to make savvy moves in the market hasn't been paying attention.
People now seem to be doing to Sullivan exactly what he's spend over a decade doing to the club.

Let's hope his wardrobe is rammed full of easily pull-downable pants...alongside all those skeletons. He's clearly going to need them

Replace him with Hayden Hackney from borough. Talented young british player. Good chance would come here despite our situation and stay should we go down!

See Chelsea, Tottenham and Villa have all enquired about Paqueta apparently. Makes you wonder how Bristol City nipped in front of them for Earthy.

Given our position and desperation, Mendes probably sees us as a way of offloading every "Mauro Zarate" that he has on his books. His premium clients will be offered elsewhere.

He'll join a team with a better chance of staying in the Premier League. Looks like Carrick is already sniffing around him for Man Utd.

Solid attritional work from Sullivan and Brady - expectations at rock bottom
Agree to an extent, but come on we desperately need some old skool defenders and these two fit that bill.

Don't forget this is the site that didn't want Dawson, Maguire, McTominay, among others.

Agree with this.

My worry is that, with relegation a near certainty now (I don't really have any hope of us staying up), but with Nuno and Mendes still in place, we're looking to fill the squad with expensive, lower grade (than Mendes' best clients) Latino lightweights who will hate the relentlessness of the Championship (46 games of mayhem) and will want off quickly.

I know some fans cream themselves over the mere thought of a Brazilian (fnar, fnar). But for every Coutinho or Guimaraes there's a Guilherme or an Igor. And we ain't in line to land the Coutinhos.

Hope I'm wrong. But I can see us being lumped with a lot of expensive problems next season. And, by then, Nuno and his agent mate will be long gone.

Yes- this is exactly the same as where we are with manager now. We'll get a Dyche type next whenever that may be and 'be thankful' for it. Awful fall.

With those sort of players, it's not quite so bad if they are bought to 'steady the ship' with the next 18 months in mind but other recruitment with the next 5 years in mind happens alongside it. Trouble is the second part won't happen and we'll just carry on and on in this short term cycle of mediocrity/shit.
and the cycle starts all over again.
