Is Max Kilman the worst centre back in your memory - name worse?
In light of the horrific display at Wolves, is Max Kilman the worst centre back we've had? There is probably worse, but I can't remember.
Gary Breen was pretty bad. He didn't make as many mistakes as Kilman, but he was weak - like a road cone easily bypassed.

I can just remember the big baggy kit!
I suppose we're all guilty of looking at things from more recent memory, but Roberto was truly horrific. That Burnley away game is the worst individual performance you will ever see from a professional footballer.

Good for playing on the old Yeovil pitch though.

Re: Is Max Kilman the worst centre back in your memory - name worse?
What makes Kilman the worst ever signing is the cost, and the fact that there can be no excuses.
With expensive foreign signings who have never played in the league, they can always end up not adapting to the league, the country etc.
This lad, it was hard for the club not to know everything about him. This signing sums up everything that is fucked about this club.

If we're talking about any player in any position at any cost, Roberto is the worst player we have ever had at the club.

Yes, but what makes Kilman better than Radford or David Kelly? Fucked if I know.

Watched almost every game that McKnight and Kelly played for us.
They we’re both terrible - especially McKnight (moved off his line about as well as Captain Tom). Kelly had a few decent games for us, but was never good enough and seemed to hate any contact - which was bizarre for a striker in the 80s/90s. Looked out of his depth playing in front of fans used to Cottee etc.
Kilman is definitely as bad as both of them. He’s a proper ringer. Can’t run, tackle, head or mark. Quite genuinely, I don’t know how he became a premier league footballer. Said not long after we signed him that he’ll never play for a team that finishes in the top ten. He’s a walking relegation battle. Gary Breen.
Fuck knows who “scouted” him other than Lopetegui: a man who proved the point that even Spain produces some Steve McClarens.

Radford ..fuckin ell...You've out old fuckered me there like.

Re: Is Max Kilman the worst centre back in your memory - name worse?
Kilman is the worse player I’ve seen in a West Ham shirt.
Re: Is Max Kilman the worst centre back in your memory - name worse?
Exactly what everyone sees GreenStreet. Cannot have players who are not brave and are scared of getting hurt especially in his position. I think Max is one of them that fears the pain especially in the air. All good CBs take whacks to the head regularly. He doesnt.
He made his name playimg for England as a lad in that foosball ( spelling?) tounament and was good with his feet but lack of speed means that is never seen. Also Nuno probably does not encourage CBs to play like Brighton’s as part of the whole team attacking
Wolves fan i know said he was very good with Connar Cody and Willy Boly who were leaders and vocal.

When was the last time we had CBs who could chip in with a goal every now and then from a set piece, Dawson and Zouma.
In our early days with Kilman I was watching his face at a set piece of ours, and it said he didn’t want it.

As much as Max pains me. I would feel a bit sorry for him if he happened to stumble upon WHO and saw this headline.
Ditto poor 'Jimmy', how do you even begin to explain to him he's nicknamed after some midget jock nudger in his 60s.
No wonder everyone wants to leave.

Re: Is Max Kilman the worst centre back in your memory - name worse?
Errors are the thing everyone notices but he is so slow for the PL and if yhat is not bad enough he is a “shrinking violet”. Lucas Neill was slow but made up fir it with attitude and commitment and the clever wsy he dealt with faster players by using his body and not giving them an inch. Kilman looks lightweight especially in the air and positionally he falls asleep, never attacks the ball etc. A 10-15 million player at best.
