I don’t believe all these rumours.
if he hates him so much why was he on the bench and why did he even put him on?
he obviously doesn’t fuck around if he doesn’t like you (JWP).
Way too many rumours with no substance going around.
All the 'analysts' basically agree that Nuno prizes one-on-one duel performance over anything else. Win the individual battle with your opponent, and you come out on top as a team.
Callum Wilson doesn't win many duels. Thble two strikers brought in both have big duelling numbers. Can see the same in the upturn in Todibo...much more aggressive in the individual duels.
It's not that he dislikes Wilson, just that he doesn't offer what he believes he wants in his players.
But.... obviously if we're going two up top he needs a striker on the bench, and a last 5 mins poacher fits that Bill well as at that point in the game the individual duels are of less significance. Don't expect to see Wilson starting any time soon though.

This boy in on loan to look like we’ve replaced Paqueta. Net £35 million in for Paqueta covers, with Guilherme fee, what we paid out for Pablo and Taty.
The illusion of spending to try keep us up. Sullivan really is the “master of deception”?

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
I think a winger was more important than a CB, or certainly just as important. Our CB's are shit, but we do at least have 4 of them.
All our attacking play is done via the flanks, our 2 wingers are our 2 best players, but if one of them gets injured, our back up winger is.... ?
KWP basically. We definitely won't be winning any more games if that's the case.
Whether this lad is good enough is another question, let's fucking hope so.

Yes, the centre half thing is completely baffling. We are screaming out for a Dawson type player who will be vocal and lead from the back.

Ex.We've truly pushed the boat out here for a new winger haven't we. I mean he might surprise everyone but it just screams Ali Dia levels of quality on the pitch when we really need a couple of proven things.
I am struggling, unless we've seemingly managed to uncover an unbelievable overlooked diamond, to see what the point of this even is. He's surely not going to be capable of going from the level he's at to being effective in a premier league environment, is he?To be fair we're always moaning that we don't pick these players up early and then want to pay excessive amounts for them later, seems like a decent low risk punt to me.
If this bloke is instead of Traore then I am all for it

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
So we have several highly thought of youth players that can’t break into the first team, but unknown foreign players are expected to?
What was the point when there’s a significant chance they won’t even make the bench, and if they do, they’ll be given scraps.
I’d much prefer young English players coming through the youth personally, and a few experienced players to compliment them.
Last point - Why are we signing wingers when we need fucking centre halves?

I wholeheartedly agree with that and under normal circumstances absolutely and I have moaned about why aren't we like the B clubs time after time. However, the frustration is that we've wanted this for years while adopting the policy of buying 'established players' or has beens and never weres who have been shit and slowly fucked the club and got us into this position where now we NEED players with a bit more experience and nous to try and stay in the division, but NOW is when we choose to take punts on cheap (not in Pablo's case) unknowns who almost certainly aren't ready to make a significant contribution between now and May yet we likely need to chuck them into the matchday squad instead of giving them time to settle. It's like the book is being read upside down and at any given time the opposite of what's needed is done.
However I do stand ready to eat my words if this lad turns out to be a revelation who defies all logic and hits the ground running. But our transfer strategy is just utterly baffling at all times.

If Brighton signed him it would probably be applauded, and I suspect Traore will still rock up.

Whether or not you feel Guilherme was given a fair crack, the Venezuelan doesn't have to contribute very much to the rest of the season to have actually contributed more

We got more for him than we're laying out for his replacement by quite a margin... We needed money in.

That's it. So many leaks constantly coming out of the club and from seemingly competing or at odds sources and trying to attribute blame or credit one way or another that it's hard to know exactly what's apparently actually happened

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
So this Venezuelan guy- weird one. Seems an absolute non commital move as to where we end up next season.
However, I note that it comes on the back of a win whereas it was dead quiet after the Wolves and Forest games. It surely can't be that Sullivan is sanctioning transfer activity literally week to week now, depending on the latest results? Win and we buy someone, lose and we don't. This would be a new level of idiocy and madness even for him. Even now he manages to sit on the fence and not commit to staying up or accepting relegation. We are SO badly run from the top level.

None, not a dig either.. We all do it me included as easier to be outraged by his interfering when disagreeing with it.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
It just goes to show that however bad the striker situation SEEMED in the summer, it got a fuck of a lot even worse from then to the start of January with the German Kardashian again underperforming, getting hurt and then throwing a hissy fit and fucking off. All of a sudden Wilson was the only senior striker at the club. If he stays, in the three that we now have, I think that's at least the absolute bare bones of what we need to have a chance to stay up. But let's be clear- the anger at Wilson in the summer was that he was the only new striker coming in and that it was a Sullivan special that we didn't want, rather than anything like the players all the upwardly mobile clubs with any ambition around us were signing up. No club in the division started the season with a worse stable of strikers than us because of once again an absolute paucity of transfer activity.
However, in the summer IF we stay up, we need to sign at least one PROPER striker like we have for the last three years, to be first choice. Taty and Pablo to stick and play a part. Taty to start games, Pablo to play less and hopefully improve. Wilson to say thank you very much for a job well done, offered an appropriate 12 month extension to take or leave on the proviso he knows he's not a starter unless there are injuries or squad rotation. I have zero faith in any of that happening even if we do escape the drop though.
Should we go down, I expect all we will have left is Pablo.
