Was typing this before the goal, but I had little idea what Fernandes was about before we signed him so did the usual watching of youtube, and I said having watched that he doesn’t look like a ten which I think people thought, but instead the closest to Rice since he went. Seems exactly that to me, better deeper dictating play, puts himself about with clever challenges. Outside of Bowen, the most gutted I’d be to lose if we go down. What a player the kid is, despite those complaining about the fee for a relegated player. 

Anyway, an opportunity to pump them here, to boost confidence. The left back and Ballard on a tightrope. Get at them and don’t sit back. Equally as important to keep a clean sheet though.

Great half from us thus far. Sunderland's reaction to our corner is something I haven't seen all season. They looked afraid to come out too quickly, and we didn't have three attackers bearing down on our back line after the initial clearance.
