Re: West Ham vs Sunderland | PL | 24.1.26 | Predictions and Match Thread
Great win and good all round performance.
Summerville starting to grow into a star.
Fernandez also starting to sizzle.
You can see Wilson’s quality when he comes on, we need to keep him, he’s a handful and has a nice touch.
Bowen is hitting form again and I like Taty’s game.
Defensively we’re better. Scarles is improving but he’ll take a back seat to Diouf who is better.
Paqueta wasn’t missed, no surprise there.
Overall a huge improvement and the early signs of hope that this season is salvageable.
Gotta keep pushing, need to go in to the Chelsea game looking for 3 points, keep the momentum.
A win against Chelsea would really do wonders for our confidence and belief going forward.
hopefully we’ve turned the corner and we have brighter days ahead.
Exciting stuff, enjoyed watching that, we played some nice football too.

Another great result. Maybe Nuno has found a formula that can get us out this mess?
im still undecided about the front two though. Thought Wilson came on and again offered more than both.

Don’t you mean Busquets?
wonder if it’s because a midfield two is giving them more space.

I thought the balance of him alongside Soucek in the middle gave us solidity.
Re: West Ham vs Sunderland | PL | 24.1.26 | Predictions and Match Thread
Fernandes been stifled by paqueta?
Look at the way he marches about, chest out, always in the refs face. All good stuff, he needs to be at the centre of it all and given freedom to play his game. Hope we can get that CB in this week and maybe we have a chance.

Re: West Ham vs Sunderland | PL | 24.1.26 | Predictions and Match Thread
There’s something to be said about Paqueta not being involved. Good player, yeah, but a liability with a combustible personality and you never really knew whether the good version would play or the tinpot mug who had been stinking up the place all season.
Today was a fantastic result built upon a strong performance, and I’m happy. Pressure is starting to mount on Forest and I don’t think they have the mettle to survive on their own; it’s whether we do or not that worries me most.
Chelsea up next - I think most of us would say a loss is likely, but it’s just as dependant on what Jekyll or Hyde version of theirs turns up.

pick/play a more attacking/adventurous style, the players will enjoy their job more and it's easier to win games. didn't watch it, but great result

Havent enjoyed many games this season but great team performance today. Deserved tbe points, great goals showed skill, tenacity to win back the ball and resilience. Sunderland werent great but take nothing away from our boys. They really got about the opposition.
Let's hope we can keep up these levels. Fernandes today was fantastic.

hopefully though we’re getting the confidence and momentum to get us out of this despite the negative half time team talks the keep happening
Leeds are back in the mix now, and they are fucking toilet, they’re the ones that we can definitely catch
That's what has fucked me off frustrating me for most of the season as we do have quality within the side if you tap in to it. We currently deserve to be in the bottom 3 with how badly we have played up till now but no way should these players be in it. It aint a relegation Squad.
I think we desperately need Paolo in the mix when it comes to the coaching
we’re clearly sitting on the next Lampard (still a cսnt) with Fernandes here, but having an ex goalkeeper as coach I’m seriously concerned we’re gonna let it go to waste

My negative ninny routine is genuine. Its what 65 years supporting Wedt Ham does to you so dont worry it will continue. I hipe to continue to be proved wromg every week until end of season

Sir Alf" wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026, 14:33 I was always confident. That’ll shut up the doubters ( like me ). Great first half won it and then it was game management. Hats off to Soucek who has adapted his game and playing 1 or 2 touch football. Summerville on form gives us a chance and Fernandes looks much better without having to sit in Paqueta’s shadow.
Pablo is a young donkey at times but his pressimg and contesting of the ball certainly gives the opposition something to think about.
If we can keep it up, I might start believing but its gonna take a few more games and results in them to convince we have “turned a corner”. Improved no doubt but needs to maintained until end of season and we need another CB and centre mid IMO
nice weekend of footie ahead now![]()

Best performance we've had. We controlled the game really well. I hope people dont underestimate how Tatty and Pablo make us work so much better. The shift they put in makes it so much easier for the rest of the team and allows Jimmy & co. to do their jobs better. Well done lads!

Great win.
The 2 new lads are working their nuts off and soaking up the pressure, giving the others space to create.
So good to hear west ham are massive loud and clear again
paqueta bought the car and drove off thank god
