Mateus Fernandes
This is a serious player we’ve got on our hands here, give this bloke a license to shoot on site within 30 yards cos he’s clearly mustard
£40mil could be a steal if we play to his strengths

Re: Mateus Fernandes
Agreed, but Sullivan would willingly take a fifth of that if it helped him maintain his current cash-flow "strategy".

Re: Mateus Fernandes
Only 21, still. If we stay up and keep him for a couple of years, he'll be off to one of the big boys for £100 million plus. Hopefully, by then, we'll have someone at the club who will know how to not waste it.

one mental thing is that if we go down despite how good he is an how 40 mill looks like a good price now, we will unbelievably lose money on even him as well.I think it was denied that he has a lower relegation release clause than we paid for him.
As I said on the match thread, he’s finally the Rice replacement. All action, very smart tackler, and dictates play from deeper. Superb player.
I hope so, and I also hope we never find out!
it would be classic West Ham to finally buy a total gem and then not even profit from it

He’s got a 32 million euro release clause if we go down. So we will make a loss on him IF we go down.
If we stay up, we could sell him for a fortune. Although obviously I’d rather we hung on to him but I could see a top club coming in for him.

Re: Mateus Fernandes
35mil relegation release clause. Vultures are circling. If he is happy here and can keep us up then I look forward to his development otherwise he will sadly be sold. I do think playing next to an experienced player like Soucek will help him.

Sanctioning the sale your best in-form difference making midfielder would probably take Sullivans unpopularity to whole other level, as if that would even be possible. Man Uts may have politely inquired but I really realy doubt it would be on the cards even if possible.

Fairly sure he can leave but won't be eligible to play.
