Sly Slips Away
Drummer Sly Dunbar is no more. If you've not heard of him you've almost certainly heard him.

Re: Sly Slips Away
Sly and Robbie were tops and contributed to many of my favourite albums of the 80s, all the Island Records stuff, Grace Jones, Robert Palmer. Future shock by herbie hancock, and loads more. Their own album with 'boops' on it.
But i didnt know he was the drummer on double barrell by dave and ansel. Very influential electronic percussion and bass, and reggae of course.
Bass - the final frontier.

That is sad news, Mike.
What a terrible 12 months its been for drummers ; The Jam, Squeeze, Banshees, Blondie, Plus jazz legend Jack de Johnette, and now Sly.
RIP.
