I don't have an issue with how they remove offending illegals, don't have an issue with targeted arrests full stop, it's more their routine "check ins" of places of work and rounding up of working illegals that all feels a little "where are your papers?" and wearing masks and balaclavas is reinforcing that image.

It's one step away from checkpoints and national ID cards that nearly everyone here is dead against

So because a City a few hundred years ago was infested with immigrants and crime, they should all be happy to go back to that, for the sake of more immigrants who still live like it was 200 years ago?

you've stopped even mentioning the "illegal" part then...No wasn't what I meant, just that New York has literally always been "infested" with immigrants, it's part of its identity. In terms of crime if there's the will to be hard on it and spend some money then you wont have to put up with it, most are there to work and keep out of trouble. Don't have an issue with deporting offending illegals, just think the currently tactics are all wrong .

If someone is in the country illegally and a criminal I don't care how they get them out, you only need to look at home many foreign nationals due for deportation that reoffend in our country to know, that the courts/legal route simply doesn't work.  

Christ we try to deport Jamaican violent and sexually violent criminals all the time and all you get is "Windrush" and "He's got a family" and they are back of the plane and reoffending within the week. 

So I'd rather their tactics than ours, in 2022 alone 3000 foreign nationals reoffended over 10,000 times when they should have been kicked out. 

Only 3% of those who crossed illegally in small boats from 2018-2024 have been returned. 

Would love to know your way of removing them though.

Agree 100% Who TF needs to open carry a gun nowadays? What's the use case? Fire it for ANY reason and you'll be in a world of pain and likely in Jail or worse. Especially when you're facing down Law enforcement!

they at least vetted immigrants for being 'of good character' back in the day (when we REALLY needed immigration) instead of just throwing open the border to everyone and anyone like Biden did.

Now ICE is trying to clean up the mess by getting out those who are here and wanted for crimes. I don't get why some on the left are so keen on protecting criminals, gang members, rapists etc.  Their protests are more designed to sow chaos in genral and they are not blameless in the deaths of the two people (that they radicalized) at the hands of ICE

ICE are, effectively, the Federal government's brownshirts inflicting fear and punishment on all in blue cities only.
The irony of a guy getting murdering for exercising his first and second amendment rights is painful.
Much as I disagree with open carry, our gun laws are about right, the second amendment is there precisely to counter a federal government  overreaching its constitutional powers.
I have a firearms license and own a rifle but it stays in the armoury of my shooting club.
