We didn't surrender, some on here have clearly never kicked a football.
Our problem is keeping goals out not scoring them.
Been like it for 2 years at least, as soon as we're put under pressure we cave in.
You need to dig in at points during most games and weather the storm but we can't.
When we took it to Chelsea 1st half with less Defenders at the back, what was the scoreline at Half Time by being so positive?Yeh because the other team and their manager are going to do nothing at HT and play exactly the same as they did in the first half and let us stroll about and score a couple more.
Which part of "they were all over us before we made the subs" are you not grasping?
Do people actually watch other games or play football these days? You need at least a 3 goal lead to feel confident, that applies to almost every team in the division if not all. The Champions League is the same now too.
Nuno or the players don't consciously decide to sit back, they are forced too, and when that happens you have to react by digging in, weathering the storm and trying to catch them on the counter so no point leaving 2 up top to press nobody, we aren't going to outplay them at this point, so you try to beef up the defence and bring someone like Traore on and a poacher like Wilson on which is exactly what he did.
you do understand that Chelsea pushing on opens up even more space for our forwards if the cսnt manager doesn't shit himself? sitting back, welcoming pressure when you can't defend is unforgivable

Once they made the subs we were on the ropes and you knew once the first went in we would fold
Bringing on Kilman merely compounded matters.
It was great to see the Chels booing off there own team at half time though and pissing off to the bar when our second went in which reminded me of being at home.
So Nuno and Sullivan where is the centre half we so desperately need ?
That new winger looks like he should be playing rugby
Embarrassing

They play football manager so know what they are doing.
The fact is they brought on £150m of subs, that’s the power they have. Todibo misses a sitter and we also, probably, should be 3 up at half time but the 2nd half was always going to be tough.
I’m gutted but after 50 years of supporting the club you get use to these disappointments.
You don’t help yourself.
5 minutes after the half time changes we’d had 3 shots to their none. They were still on the ropes. It was at the stage Nuno decided to change the entire playing style and sit everyone back.
Football Manager or otherwise, that’s fucking imbecilic in game management.

Kilman sub was odd. Why not bring Potts or Magassa on who can at least keep the ball?
Agree with Monsieur, it's a slow painful watch, even at 2-0 up and most of us knew the outcome because we've all seen it so many times before.

The way Traore tossed slime ball cucurella like a rag doll to the floor was worth paying his transfer fee alone.

Yep..
Got to hand it to the players/managers ..the whole rotten barrel ..they keep finding new ways to torture us .
It's always the hope that kills ya.
The manner of that defeat is fucking brutal, and I can't see us coming back after that.
That second half was season defining and we folded.
Like you say the whole season has been a cluster fuck

3 centre backs doesn't have to be an ultra defensive option and shouldn't automatically mean a low block... its just that these three - and in particular any 3 that includes Kilman - have proved time and time again they don't compliment each other and can't do it
Re: Chelsea vs West Ham | PL | 31.1.26 | Predictions & Match Thread
I’d have him out of the club tonight. When a bloke who works in an office can read a game better than someone who has been in the sport for 30 years, the game is up.
Hopefully Paco knocks him out in the debrief just for bringing fucking Kilman on.

Re: Chelsea vs West Ham | PL | 31.1.26 | Predictions & Match Thread
The thing is you can’t defend against what Chelsea were doing with just us by putting more defenders on. They were floating balls in etc. you could have ten defenders on and you can’t stop top level players getting on the end of those things.
the key is to stop them putting in the cross in the first place! And that’s about not allowing them the space and time. And that’s about forcing them back by ATTACKING them more.
The teams that have come up from the championship and done ok are the ones that attack. It’s the only way. Low block just doesn’t not work.
I dunno. I’m just gutted by this one.

He could have put and extra body in the centre of midfield and aimed to press them 10/20 yards outside the box.
He didn't he put the extra defender on to retreat to the 18 yard box.
Both may have had the same outcome but he choose, as he always does, the gutless shit cսnt opinion.

1st Half - 4 attacking Forwards keeping the Captain on with 4 Defenders at the back - 0-2 clean sheet by Half Time.
2nd Half - 3 attacking Forwards taking the Captain off with 5 Defenders at the back lose the Half 3-0 no clean sheet, lack scoring ourselves and ends with a Defender getting sent off.
Nuno clueless Management all over and the creator of his own downfall. 100% on the Manager chucking all 3 priceless points away.

I swear being a WHU supporter is a curse.
The heartache this club consistently puts us through is truly unrivalled.
Hands up all old heads who had that voice in you head at half - time saying 3 fucking 2 ?.
Seen it so many times ...against those cunts too...had to be didn't it..
Fuckin hell that is a tough one to take.
