I'll stick me neck out and say I think Disasi will be a decent signing. Don't buy into this not being ready mantra either. Is JWP ready for Burnley?

palace signing Strand Larsen. Should get them the goals to keep them out of any trouble.
Strand Larsen only scores against us doesn't he? Massive fee for a guy that doens't look like scoring goals.

This Disaster bloke cost Chelsea £37 million from Monaco didnt he? Must have had something they liked or they just overpaid like we did for Kilman?
Still need central midfield strengthening. Ideally with attacking or ball carrying abilities but seeing as Nuno no longer rates Potts or Magassa we need a another defensive midfielder too. From playing Potts and Magassa every game to unused subs.
Spoke to my Villa supporting mate about Disasi:
"He was decent cover. I didn’t shit myself with him like Axel Tuanzebe".
Given our actual quality at CB...he probably ends up being our best defender:

What time will that arselicker Whetstone do a tweet along the lines of
'West Ham have been offered a few players today but the manager doesn't feel like they are better than what we have or the price demands are deemed unreasonable. We can still sign free agents after the deadline which is what we are exploring'

I don't have a problem with making a profit per se, but only if you're not left inadequately staffed.
when you are in the bottom 3, turning a profit and making the squad thinner is not the actions of a owner that has every intention and effort in trying to stay in this league.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Latest is they expect to sign a CB, likely a Keeper since Hermansen wants to move, and are considering a midfielder.
There is some budget for 'the right defender' and are looking at loans.
Biggest problem is teams want obligations, and we only want options...understandable on both sides (and apparently what killed the deal for Natan from Betis).

I suspect a CB will come in today, probably Disasi.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Surely a centre back should of been the priority from the start of this window baring in mind the lack of form of Kilman and co throughout the season.
Instead of that we sign the incredible Hulk to play in Bowens position and two forwards who don't know where the back of the net is.
Incompetence beyond belief and not for the first time
An inability to sign a centre forward to cover for a struggling Antonio a few years back possibly cost us a European trophy and the champions league place that went with it.
We thought we had a deal done was the cry from Moyes at the time and as Newcastle splashed the cash we refused to for Chris Wood.
It's always the one that got away with Sullivan and co.

Forest's owner might be mental but you can't say he's not giving his club every chance to survive by going for plenty of players of a decent quality.
Unlike Sullivan sitting on his hands with one eye on the shop soiled damaged goods bargain bin waiting for a yellow sticker each day.
Both men rumoured to be dodgy in their own ways, but one of them is doing what it takes for the best bet of remaining a premier league owner come May.

We are a failing business courtesy of a “not fit for purpose”, incompetent owner, facilitated by a inept, weak board. Add to that a part time CEO who has only worked for one boss and who was promoted to roles she didnt earn by her achievements but simply because she was and remains a “brown nose”. Amateurs with egos who dont and cant listen.
BS and board taking us down faster than Katie Price’s drawers
Do you just spend all your time drafting different ways to say the same thing?

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Personally I also would be looking at a loan having sent Igor back
Hopefully players who can help us survive & we rethink in the summer
We aren’t going to be able to find someone capable of filling in for Fernandes
And of course we have left it to the last couple of days of the window
Sullivan … we tried

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Frankly I'd get Disasi in.
Would rather him on loan than Harwood-Bellis on a perm, as neither are inspiring...Disasi at least has a physicality about him though not good with the ball at his feet, but strong in the air. Didn't play much for Villa (10 games?) but was MoM in one of them and played out of position too.
Injury to Fernandes is the one that really concerns me, as it causes our whole midfield to fall apart. Not just that we can't replace him, but without his ability to 'do everything be everywhere' it renders Soucek unplayable at the same time, and that rips out the nucleus of our side.
If we have money to spend, I'd be looking for someone to come in and be backup to him. Would rather we spent solid money on a gamble with upside like Hayden Hackney, and loaned a CB who is likely to be a bench option anyway, than spent money on another sub-par CB and left midfield susceptible to such a body blow.

Might have been mentioned but social media story about Taylor Harwood-Bellis being mentioned as an alternative to Disasi
Left far too late I imagine as Southampton would need a replacement

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Had that bad loan, and fallen behind Kante in the pecking order (I'm guessing because of physicality) as well as both Potts and Magassa being ahead of him in the deeper laying role.
Surprised he didn't go back out on loan in January. He's of course got time on his side, but really needs to go on loan and make an impression somewhere. Also needs to become evident just what his midfield role is...is he physical enough to play CDM or Box to Box, or creative enough to play 10?
